That's what I was originally gonna do, and then my little detective brain said no, so now im thinking of who could do it and the people who should be ruled out

Little thing to do with the thread, also, the update for the event includes Lock Tess monsters? So either is a coincidence orrrr... There's something to do with that

Oh yes! Andrea had some like that when she was making a gift for Cirrus. I think she wanted Cirrus to have a heart necklace that matched hers, but Cirrus like fancy things!

I havent seen this discussed yet--is it possible Cirrus and Andrea maybe fought over the necklace because it wasn't fancy enough? maybe Cirrus stormed off on her own and got lost because of the messed up trail sign! I dont know what that would mean in terms of the broader plot yet bc i'm a big fan of "Mason is staging a hoax" theory! maybe he never meant for anybody to go missing and it just happened that these 2 were out when he didn't expect them to be when he changed the sign or something?

*like maybe he changed the sign to lead the trail to the cave where he thinks something spooky is because he wants more witnesses! and these 2 just happened to be out on various errands instead of a hiking group as he intended?

I’m not sure if we have the potential leads in one easy-to-find place yet, so here are the relevant clues I saw. It’s much easier to piece together what happened if we have all of the clues in one place. If I’m missing something/got something wrong, please mention it and I will make the necessary edits!

Main Camp

1. Animals are appearing at higher frequency. Their designs are also more fantasy-based.
2. Andrea is upset, probably because Cirrus is her best friend. They signed with one another the day before the disappearance, so may have also gotten into an argument.

Lakeside
Glampgrounds:
1. Two missing rhinestones in the underbrush. Cirrus is probably their owner.
2. Purple permanent marker, discarded.
3. Cirrus’s things have been rifled through, and her name on the bag uses the same permanent marker on it.
4. Thermals show a figure with an odd walk coming into the glampgrounds and escorting a second figure out. The second figure is Cirrus. The first figure is possibly our perp.
5. String lights were taken from glampground and found in HQ, delivered via owl.
6. Cirrus knows how to make a fire.

Lake:
1. A canoe named FINTASTIC, docked. As multiple cabins mentioned it and found it funny, it probably wasn’t there before the disappearance (otherwise it wouldn’t have stood out).
2. Loch Tess monster as an adopt.
3. Broken fish scales.
4. A broken sign saying “Loch Tess.”
5. Cirrus’s bracelet on the far edge of the lake. It’s a purple string.
6. A large, dark shadow in the water.
7. Something with the ability to grab tried to drown a Berry Cabin member.

Firewatch Tower/Woods:
1. Abandoned rope and rusty spoon by the tower.
2. Seraphine’s orange fur on trail sign.
3. Trail sign by raspberries had been tampered with to point the wrong way.
4. Magnetic anomaly, compass went on the fritz.
5. A fire could be seen by a cave mouth far in the distance. This probably was not Seraphine, as they never mentioned staying in a cave for the night. This was probably Cirrus or her kidnapper. It’s our best clue so far as to where she went.

Ranger Station:
1. As others have stated, Mason is sus. He wants to prove to Seraphine, the newbie, that cryptids are real, and he suggested they try a new trail by the raspberries… right where the sign indicates the wrong direction.
2. He seems a bit irritated by the glampers.
3. As far as I’m aware, he doesn’t walk oddly or with a limp.
4. He claims there have been strange footprints and crazy antlers in the woods.
5. He claims there is a cryptid in the lake. Based on other evidence, he isn’t lying about this.
6. He has confiscated the broken string lights (probably the same lights as Glampgrounds clue 5)
7. He believes that Seraphine is very capable and can handle themselves. He might not think the same of Cirrus.

Edit: There seems to be a lack of footprints as evidence. Either no one was looking for them, or Cirrus didn’t leave on foot. I’m guessing she made a lake crossing. It would be hard to track individual footprints in the well-traveled areas, but they would be more obvious in the less-traveled parts of camp and in the woods.

Hold up, mason is one of the only flying animals around here, a butterfly wolf, so he could walk funny because he knows that if he gets caught flying someone away, it would be him or beryl, and beryl probably has an alibi, so he might have tried to walk ?

Oh! And in my clues it says: your flashlight catches on a red reflection in the bushes. There sure are a lot of raspberries! I saw someone on here before I posted my clues saying that the owl and the birds both had red eyes, what if that red I saw with my flashlight Wasn't raspberries?

Re: Camp Smoothie: Disappearance Investigation Discussion

I don't really think Cirrus was kidnapped. Maybe tricked. But left on her own four hooves. Assuming the two people leaving the campsite were Cirrus and her 'escort' (and not like, the two canoe-ers), what if one was a Nessie? Flippers would certainly walk funny on land. Mason being the 'escort' doesn't quite make sense since he was back by the time we noticed the two were missing, though I agree Mason seems to have a dislike for Cirrus's camping practices.

However, I do think Mason got Seraphine lost. He didn't mention anything about Seraphine checking out the trail he suggested and only raved about cryptids. It's like he didn't want us to know he last saw her.

Day 2 Conall wrote:"Deep in the woods, there is a cave where it was rumored that a cavern full of glittering gems beyond your wildest imaginings lies hidden, waiting for an intrepid explorer to discover it. For many years, scientists studied the cave--from its giant waterfall to its glowing mushrooms--without discovering its secrets. Then, one day, there was a collapse! All of the rocks in one part of the cave crashed to the ground, and those in the cave traveled through to find the rumored crystals a mysterious land where a civilization had lived in a cold pocket for thousands of years. It is rumored that those explorers even found a way to travel through time and found proof of ancient animals. They weren't supposed to bring anything back, but I think they might have. Late at night, you can sometimes hear strange noises in the woods, and I've heard tales of strange beasts that don't look like any animal we know...""

I think the story about the cave is true and it, like, leads to the center of the earth? That would have magnetic anomalies that effect compasses, and all sort of crazy critters could live in there! What if whatever took Cirrus likes glittering gems? Fairy lights are very like glittering things. They have a lot in common.

I'm not sure about Penny. They seem to know something, but I'm not sure what. The 'red' could also have been more of Seraphine's fur.
