The fish you catch in fishing game are tokens
I believe you get gummy worms from the fish

The trash items from the lake are just used for item dress-ups - they do not have a token trade-in ^^ Getting the snakes/pet rock is random chance but they seem to be rarer than the bracelet drops.

Do we know how long, or at least approximately how long, the event will last? My first summer event was last year and I can't remember how long it lasted.

New pets are generally released for around 10 days, and then there are usually a few extra days to collect tokens, with an additional couple days to complete token trade-ins afterwards.

i missed most of yesterday because i was sleeping for over half the day and i also started the event late, im missing a single otter-fish and just wanted to know before i hit the trades

You can still get the otters! It’s random chance, so you just have to keep trying :)
