I have a question, i have a friend who is joining today/tommorow, (I recently got into CS again and he saw it and went "hey thats pretty cool"), would he be banned for claiming december 18th pets?

I doubt he'd be able to adopt the pets at all, since recently joined accounts can't adopt, to prevent cheating and all. But if he could adopt them then yes he'd be allowed to do so, as long as he didn't then trade them to you and never be active again.

The Dec 18th gift boxes are full of hundreds of different pets
you are only allowed to adopt from each box once.
Wait, are there several boxes? I thought there has been only one every year since I joined... I might be wrong tho.
