Jup! They hatch into birds, so far we have two different growths, with more having to hatch yet:

You get them from the banner. It's completely randomized, so you might just be having bad luck at the moment. If you're patient enough, you're bound to come across one eventually! I would suggest trying to trade for them in the meanwhile ^^
