Is there a limit on how many times you can turn in the hermit crabs/turtles?

Because that option disappeared for me.

some of the turn-in places will temporarily disappear for an undetermined amount of time after using them - they'll come back in a few minutes, though. ^.^

Thee's only 5 items and you need 6, but of any comination it doesn't have to be one of each.

No, you just need six gold items total, plus the ring to get the pirate dogs.
