Yeah, as much as tonight's gift might not be to everyone's taste, it's easily my favourite so far! This is only the second syrian ham litter so far (I feel it's a little unfair to group both hamster linearts together) and the other litter was only 4 outcomes. I also think the colours of Christmas are maybe somewhat regional - the most "Christmassy" colours imo so far were those PPS deer dogs. I can't think of anything more Christmas than those gorgeous dark reds and greens. But I think in other places the colours are all much brighter and flashier.

I also can't lie - I loved seeing a litter of moreso European Christmas treats! Fruitcakes and Christmas puddings are what I think of when I think of Christmas. So I am essentially the perfect demographic for this advent calendar haha!

Though it's also worth noting that we do still have more than a week's worth of gifts, so hopefully for those of you who haven't found much you like yet there will be gifts that speak to your Christmas traditions (:

You can’t please everyone! Some people prefer bright colours, abstract designs, and big pets. I prefer natural and dull colours, food pets, and pets based off real things in general. I love hamsters and I’m thrilled we’re getting so many! Some events we get many dogs, some we get many deer, some many hamsters, etc. There will never be a perfect balance between the interests of everyone, so we have to accept that sometimes there won’t happen to be many things to our taste released during an event and look forward to the next one.

I think holiday food hamsters are a wonderful Advent tradition on CS and they are all some of my favourite litters. I love that these have a further theme, too! Being based specifically on German sweets unites them and distinguishes them from earlier sweet hamster litters. I love that they are based off foods that raey has personal memories with. Those family connections and good feels are what the meaning of the holiday season is all about!

It just kinda made sense to me to choose a small lineart considering they are based on small treats.

Here is the list of what they are based of:

Image - Dominostein (I do not know the English name, sorry. But they are three layered little cake things with a dough on the ground, a fruit/jam in the middle and marzipan on top). They are normally covered by chocolate but I thought the layers would be more important lol

Image - Stollen. A very traditional Christmas "cake" here in Germany. In this case it has raisins, cranberries and as normal a huge marzipan core.

Image - Baumkuchen. Also a Christmas cake consisting of super thin layers of dough baked over each other and later the whole thing is covered by chocolate. The different layers are mostly thinly covered by jam or alcohol. So nothing for kids.

Image - Gingerbread. Pretty self explaining I suppose.

Image - Douple Chocolate Cookie. It's a sort of cookies we always make around Christmas. Two chocolate cookies "glued" together with a cocoa, almond filling and half of it get's dumped into chocolate afterwards.

Image - Orange Cookies. Another one of my personal family cookies. Dough is a vanilla-orange zest dough and the cookies later get covered by a thin layer of orange icing.

Image - Cinnaroll Cookie. Not much to add here I guess.

Image - Jam-filled Cookies. Also one of the sorts we always make around Christmas. Vanilla dough. And two cookies are put together with berry jam.

Image - Vanillekipferl. I am not sure if there is an English name for those. But it's a vanilla cookie dough mostly with almonds that are rolled into a half-moon like shape and later covered with sugar.

So I hope, that even though they are hamsters again you still can enjoy them :3

I personally love them all! They are SUPER cute! Awesome job Raey!

I hope we see some more chickens; reindeer chickens would be wonderful! The PPS birds we got so far were great and are some of my favorites. I'm not so fond of hamsters, foxes, and deer and those tend to be popular for events, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!

An even bigger wish would be seeing some owls and tarantulas, but those seem to be the rarest lineart treat of all :) That 2017 Halloween spider duo and Xmas owl are still in memory. Horses, chameleons, rats, and BWs tend to have some great designs as well, so I suppose I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of pets before the end. I'm guessing we'll get one more PPS litter too so that'll be interesting.

These remind me so much of the cookies that my grandmother used to make every year for Christmas! She is Russian, and spent time in her younger years in Germany, so many of these are familiar (especially the moon-shaped cookies - ours were always dusted with powdered sugar and had a faint lemony flavor, and the thin chocolate layers we usually had as a cake called Dobosh Torte). YUM!

Raey, they are adorable! I'd actually love to see more types of little cookies as hammies! Klotchki (cant spell it right) cookies would look amazing as hammies. They're made with cream cheese dough and have pie filling type fruit stuff in them.

You guys are really sweet though :3

I think brown is a very under appreciated color. I took a look through the archives and it does seem we are getting some more brown pets than other years. It definitely gives a very warm and cozy vibe to me. There's still around 10 days left of the event, so there's plenty of opportunity for more color and non-hamster pets. The deer and the hamsters are so far my favorites and if I wans't already hoarding the PPS caterpillar, then I'd pick one of those litters.
