If there's anything I love more than syrian hamsters it's sweet and chocolatey things. Heck yeah.

Annnnd now i'm suddenly hungry!

My favorite of the bunch has to be this one, though.

Oh yeah, he's cute. Though, they all look delicious. Like the fruit filling and icing on the white one as well. O.o

Why couldn't these have been guinea pigs? They're cute but this is the second litter of hamsters (third if we could the dwarf hamster set...though I love the Christmas pudding one of that release)

Still, and I'm probably the only one who feels this way - it's nice to have a break from the constant addition of dogs. Now if you'll excuse me, back to hoping for a squad of reindeer squids...

There's been a lot of hamsters so far it seems and don't get me wrong, I'm sure a lot of people love them, but I'm not a big fan. Just of the animals in general. Not so much the line art here. It looks nice, and the designs I'm seeing are lovely given the small animal you're working on. Just not a fan, and not so happy there are three sets of them so far? I missed a day of pets I personal prefer to collect.

My Christmas hamster folder numbers 64. That's more than any other line-art except for dogs. Not a complaint, just an observation.

I do love pets based on treats and these ones look yummy!

I just noticed that the yellow rosette item from yesterday shows up under plushies and creatures, but all the other rosettes except yellow are in put-it-together.

(I had no idea where to point this out and this was the closest topic I could find, so sorry if it's wrong.)

Are today's hamsters based on specific desserts?

There's been a lot of hamsters so far it seems and don't get me wrong, I'm sure a lot of people love them, but I'm not a big fan. Just of the animals in general. Not so much the line art here. It looks nice, and the designs I'm seeing are lovely given the small animal you're working on. Just not a fan, and not so happy there are three sets of them so far? I’m glad im not the only one thinking the event is kind of... lacking. The pets we have so far are great and all but we have a lot of browns and food and hamsters. I was expecting a lot more colors and edits along with more unique designs rather than stuff that already esists(food plants other animals ect)
Don’t get me wrong, there are a bunch I like like the baby litter, but I’d like more variety

We've still got over a week in the event, hopefully we'll get more unique pets so the people who aren't a fan of the hamsters and such will be happy. c:

Are today's hamsters based on specific desserts?

If I had to guess...
- Fudge, possibly?
- Not sure about this one, it kind of reminds me of this cookie I often see people serving at Christmas parties, but I don't know the name of them.
- These are definitely cinnamon swirl cookies.
- Frosted gingerbread.
- Jam-filled cookies.
- Could be a simple sugar cookie, or Pfeffernusse cookies.
- Not sure about this one, my guess is maybe some kind of wafer cookie covered in chocolate? totally looks like pancakes
- I was thinking sugar cookie, but the little red flecks make me think it might be some kind of peppermint cookie?
- Definitely white chocolate cranberry cookies, possibly with macadamias since there's a big tan-ish chunk on the hammy's back leg. Or maybe milk chocolate cranberry cookies since what I assume are the chips are brown.

I am sorry to hear that the fact, that the christmas cookies/bakery/pastry designs are on the hamster lines is to the dislike and disappointment of so many.
It just kinda made sense to me to choose a small lineart considering they are based on small treats.

Here is the list of what they are based of:

- Dominostein (I do not know the English name, sorry. But they are three layered little cake things with a dough on the ground, a fruit/jam in the middle and marzipan on top). They are normally covered by chocolate but I thought the layers would be more important lol

- Stollen. A very traditional Christmas "cake" here in Germany. In this case it has raisins, cranberries and as normal a huge marzipan core.

- Baumkuchen. Also a Christmas cake consisting of super thin layers of dough baked over each other and later the whole thing is covered by chocolate. The different layers are mostly thinly covered by jam or alcohol. So nothing for kids.

- Gingerbread. Pretty self explaining I suppose.

- Douple Chocolate Cookie. It's a sort of cookies we always make around Christmas. Two chocolate cookies "glued" together with a cocoa, almond filling and half of it get's dumped into chocolate afterwards.

- Orange Cookies. Another one of my personal family cookies. Dough is a vanilla-orange zest dough and the cookies later get covered by a thin layer of orange icing.

- Cinnaroll Cookie. Not much to add here I guess.

- Jam-filled Cookies. Also one of the sorts we always make around Christmas. Vanilla dough. And two cookies are put together with berry jam.

- Vanillekipferl. I am not sure if there is an English name for those. But it's a vanilla cookie dough mostly with almonds that are rolled into a half-moon like shape and later covered with sugar.


So I hope, that even though they are hamsters again you still can enjoy them :3

Ah! Don’t feel bad! I do really like them, I have just never been a huge fan of food based pets in general. I also love the hamster lines(although I’d like them to be a little bit bigger so the designs are easier to see without zooming in on my screen). It’s just the fact that we’ve gotten SO MANY hamsters this event in general. Three litters with each having quite a few outcomes.

I still love and appreciate each one, I just wish we had some more variety and popping colors/designs in general. Like I said before, we have A LOT of browns and neutral colors(7/11 litters). I personally don’t think of brown as a Christmas-y color versus reds, blues, greens, ect.

It’s just my personal preference and not at all saying that these pets are bad or unloved. There are a ton of people who love them and you should be proud of them. I’m sure you worked hard on getting the designs right so that their pastry is recognizeable.
