Super excited for this year's gupps and 'kind of familiar' boxes! They're my personal highlight every year ^^

I know what gupps is but what is "kind of familiar"? :O

GUPPS is Grown Up PPS. The artists chose a few PPS from the past, usually from the same year, and make the adult version of the pet. Always cool to see the grown up versions of the babies.

Yes, make sure you play on the 18th! Instead of being another box of advent pets, you will adopt rares+ from years previous. For example, last year I adopted a cat originally from 2008:

It has the same rarity as the versions of this pet that were released in 2008, and is functionally the same pet. But because pets show up based on their unique ID, it sits next to other 2022 pets in my group instead of the "true date" 2008 pets. Be very careful on December 18, because people may try to scam you. If the pet was originally released in a growing litter, you will get it as a baby and it might take a month to grow up and get its rarity. Other players might be able to identify your pet immediately and try to scam you out of it, hoping you won't know the true value of the pet. This is called "ninja trading". I'm not trying to scare you, but this HAS happened to me, and I don't want it to happen to you, too. There is a thread to identify pets you don't know.

Also!!! Every December 18, there is a teeny tiny chance to get brand new unreleased ("UR") pets that you can ONLY get from the Dec 18 gift box. If you look in the archive, there is a tab each year called "Special Releases". One of these is usually not an animal, but a plant and/or food. These are some of the rarest pets in the game.

woo!! advent calendar :-D i remember my first pets were the 2021 chameleons from the advent calendar! i joined just after december 18 (december 19), so pretty much all everyone was talking about was dec 18 lmao, i was pretty disappointed i JUST missed it, but i think that just made my first dec 18 even more exciting!!

Yaaay, my favorite event on CS has begun! ^.^
Token events are fun but can be quite stressful to keep up with, love the cozy casual vibes of the AC <3

And I'm starting strong without missing any of the pretty candy cane horses :D
