2018 Summer Event: Pet, Item, & Event Discussion

Aw come on, guys, instead of picking apart everything that you thought wasn't right, i say we should take some time to really appreciate what we did get. I mean, get that some constructive critcism can be useful for next time, but you guys have been hammerin' the same things in for a good portion of today. I will admit that this is my first ever summer event so i have nothing to compare it to, but i still feel that repeatedly going on about the same things might make some of the staff feel a bit less appreciated? Just my random half cents worth.

I've seen people complain every event or holiday honestly, I guess you can't make everyone happy. Me? I'm deliriously giddy any time I get any new pets to adopt and collect. And there were some absolutely breathtaking designs and (yay!) new lines!!! Thank you so much staff for yet another awesome summer and for all the hard work you always put in for us. =)

I've amassed quite the small hoard of macaw eggs. I can't wait to see them all hatch and form a flock xD

That would have been way cooler and more serious then the incredibly silly lines for attacking the machines. With how not serious those lines are it makes it seem like they aren't taking the real life version of it seriously, which struck me as odd.

Guys! Keep in mind, even though some of you, like me, have turned into adults over the years, this is a game for kids! Some players are as young as 9 years old. Don't expect CS to turn into a game for adults.

And don't be so ungrateful. CS is like the only game that doesn't charge you money. Nobody forces you to play. If you don't like it, then just leave it alone. How would you feel if everyone critizised your art or whatever you did (for free!)? I don't see any note that the staff have asked for criticism.

Maybe they don't want or need constructive criticism? Just be thankful for the free pets you got. I've been here for all these years and never have I seen so many people complain about a game that is designed for kids.

This event definitely had its pros and cons like all of them do! This round it was a little harder for me to take part since I was gone a solid week so one of my cons may be biased.

PROS
- Solid pet designs as usual. I'll put some of my faves at the bottom but it's no secret I love Lillian's work so it'll be there.
- Good location choice.
- Less trading madness compared to the Lost City event.
- New lineart! Future addition to the hatchery?
- Fixed the token issue!

CONS
- Event was much too short
- Less pets and items than past events
- Meh "RNG" event (the construction site compared to the kelp forest where you could find tokens, items, pets, etc)
- Reliant too much on one type of token that was harder to get than others.

I get all of these GORGEOUS pets and now I have to come up with names for them! You think i would figure them out in between each rollover but NOOOOOO. I Just have to wait until the end when i've got pages of pets to go through.

This is one of my favorite events, ever! Especially because it's so similar to my own Summer adventure in real life, as I went to Guatemala this year to learn about Mayan math and culture.

Some animals I saw while I was there include:



some beautiful red macaws.



a toucan with this beak, but not those legs xD



several spider monkeys, there were so many monkeys there!



A coati that looked just like this one!


I'm so incredibly happy i got to share this adventure with Avian and Totoro not only online, but in real life too

That's why I name mine as I go, usually immediately xD

I refuse to use the random generated names so it can be a bit of a hassle to name them all, but I tend to go by weird naming schemes relevant to something (a visual element on the pet, a show I'm watching when I get them, etc). If not that, I tend to do a lot of names like "Featherwing", "Palewing", "Songbird"-- OR, I do humanish names with goofy last names like "William Finkleton" or "Margie Haversnuff". Occasionally I throw in a good old "Sir _______ III"
