2024 Halloween Event - Casual Chat

I‘ve been super lucky with the banner pets this event. I‘ve collected 258 banners and got 10 foxes (Edit: 11, I just saw I traded away a white one already too, forgot about that...) out of it, of which 5 were the blue one! I already traded two away and still have two more in my trades now.
Not so lucky with the token pets though, but there’s still lots of Time left

My favourite pets and items from this event (so far) are:
The rat items from today
The green cauldron kitty (I totally agree with Alina!)
The pumpkin cat hamsters matching to past years Halloween items

Dang thats insane I'm at 220 and only got 3 banner pets. silver and 2 blue . got them all between click 168 and 177 so THAT was weird.

unrelated. I may have 2 of some pets so i can have them in their proper group but a spare to show off in faves. This is the first time ive ever flat out wanted a 3rd copy of a pet. Why does this pet ggo so hard. It has no right being so dang GORGIOUS.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥


Also agree with the pumpkin hamsters being absolutely precious.

I am absolutely not dogging on the artists they are all very talented and the designs are solid so far even if they are not my favorite.. however
there are 37 rodents total and only 7 of them are rats which i feel is to be expected from a Halloween event. 23 of them are hamsters and we've got no spiders (scorpions are the same lineart but considered separate to me, glad to see them back though) and a severe lack of cats (4 counting the lioness) which I consider a pretty big staple of Halloween
is there a reason for the lack of variety in the lineart this time around? it feels a bit disappointing for people who don't tend to like those linearts (specifically hamsters and guineas)
The isopod guinea pigs are pretty cool but not really much to do with halloween besides "theyre sea bugs. bug = spooky" (i am open to being corrected on this.. they are cute sea creatures to me, not spooky)
It just feels there isn't much variety in the lineart this time around with a heavy focus (on cs in general lately, too) on hamsters and guinea pigs, not to mention only one bat litter so far. I hope tonight's pet drop subverts my expectations because iirc it is the last one

I can't speak on all of it but I believe the species of isopods we got are land species, at least. The rubber duckies at least were/are. Most of the appeal is probably they they're bugs and bugs indeed = spooky, but isopods also help break down decaying organic matter so I guess you coild make that stretch that Halloween = autumn = leaves = isopod food

I keep reptiles and bioactive enclosures and such so I'm a little biased and a big fan lol. We also did technically get spiders in the form of hamsters but I know that isn't the same to a lot of people as rhe malk spider lines are - although they were largely retired years ago weren't they?

not gonna lie I forgot isopods are land creatures too LOL my bad but i feel it still stands.. im not sure. I do like them regardless im just not a massive fan of the guinea lineart but that's a personal opinion
we got spiders last year! It's a rare lineart but we do still get them and even though I despise spiders irl i am always happy to see them on cs. i feel some really good linearts dont get used enough.. plus the scorpions are technically a derivative of the lineart as well so i wouldnt say entirely retired. it just feels like we havent gotten many of the "staple animals" of Halloween e.g cats bats spiders rats. the hamster lineart is very small and not one of my favorites as well so having 23 of them is a bit much
Truly i am not trying to insult the artists or designs themselves its just that there is only so much line edits can do and it feels theres not a lot of variety this event compared to previous years, so i was wondering if there's maybe a reason for that. Halloween has always been my favorite event on CS so its a bit personally disappointing

I got a white banner fox double last night before bed and managed to swap it for the red one, and today on my 3rd banner I got the blue one!!!! I got soooo lucky, I thought I was going to have to litterswap for it too if I got another banner fox. Got a complete 2024 pet collection right now!

I'm at 224 banners & 4 banner pets, 3 red 1 blue. took me until banner 150 to get the first one though so i got a lil worried for a second there

Did a bit of looking into this and it appears that the outcome thread has a typo there, the archive lists it as a day 6 growth, which your cocoons haven't reached yet!
