2023 Easter Event: Pet, Item & Event Discussion

Token prices are really weird because a token pet usually sells for 5 C$ normally after each event and tokens are worth 3-4 C$ at most hhh If a token pet costs 3 tokens, and tokens were bought at 3 C$, then its worth is 9 C$ x.x Just a random thought from all this egg hunting :']

Prices always seem to be inflated during an event
At the end some ppl will be selling off their spare tokens for 1C$ each though
They always start at around 4C$ at the beginning and will gradually drop in price throughout when ppl realise they have enough for what they want

I love the fact that they’re worth so much for a while though, it usually funds me a store pet set

Gotta say, the past two-three years have been absolute root-canal levels of angst getting animal eggs from the banner. As in, I often didn't have a single animal egg before banner 100, sometimes not until 150+...

This year feels just perfect. I'm not getting too many, but I am getting a decent number (just enough to get or trade for one of each, with a couple extra just in case), spaced out nicely, just... excellent. Honestly, best stress-level on an event ever. Whoever tweaked the drop level/algorithm this year, I thank you sincerely, and I can only hope it's the same next year. <3

Yep, exact same Feeling for me also, I find this Year rather "relax" for Animal Eggs, compared to the last 2-3 previous Easter Events which felt completely "stressful" I remember, last year especially, I'm still missing the 'Totoro' "Celebration" Animal Egg #100 for example, even after 1 year, grrr...!

To give some Stats about this year:

At 200 Tokens, here is what I got: (I didn't trade (for) any.)
#103 x5
#104 x6
#105 x3
#106 x1
#107 x1
#108 x1
#109 x1

=> Tot: 7 different Animal Eggs: x18 for 200 => x9 for 100 (=9%).

Even if I guess, I probably got "a bit lucky" with [#106 - #109] that I all 4 got exactly x1 each...

=> I really enjoy the Event this year, for the Animal Eggs, and all the Pets also of course...!

Sorry to ask but which box are the butterfly dragons in? I have been wanting them but don’t have many tokens (I’ve been behind lol), so I don’t want to use them accidentally on something else!

I came here wondering if other people were having a similar experience to me, and I guess they are, but view it differently.

I'm not an item collector, and while I don't mind getting a few animal eggs for trade fodder, I would much rather get tokens than a whole bunch of animal eggs, because pets are much less of a pain in the butt to trade than items. Items are almost at not-worth-it level of effort for me, so I only collect them because they have value, not because I personally want them.

This year though has just been way too many, out of 215 banners (if my math is right) I've already gotten 24 of them
103: 3
104: 6
105: 1
106: 2
107: 5
108: 3
109: 4

I sold one of them for 5 C$ although I don't know if I feel like that was an amazing trade considering what tokens go for at this point in an event, it's not like I didn't have extras, and a little more C$ doesn't hurt.

Honestly I'd rather get more banner pets in events that have them than more animal eggs, I don't care about excessive quantities of items that can't be directly traded for pets, and the drop rate for pets on the last couple of halloweens and the last summer event have been too low, in halloween 2021 I didn't even get all of the banner pets even though I maxed out on tokens, and I barely got all of them in halloween 2022 even though again, I hit the token limit, and in the summer event I missed 3/4 of the pets from the IT Office "Nick's stuff" box (my sister fortunately had better luck getting them/trading for them and gave extras to me, but I'm still salty about it).

I'd personally much prefer they increase the drop rates on pets instead, rather than all these animal eggs I don't want, I feel bitter that banner pets have become harder to come by even though animal eggs are more plentiful than ever. Plus, I can't imagine the eggs are worth that much this year if they're this common, so they aren't even particularly great trade fodder.

I dunno, maybe this all sounds too whiny, I just don't have a use for 24 animal eggs when 7-14 would have been plenty for me, and past attempts to get third-party confirmation of fairness on trades containing items have been absolutely migraine-inducing, so I don't enjoy the process of trading them (and most importantly, each animal egg is one less token).

I agree. I'm not interested in collecting items because they don't (and never will) have a rarity system, and I never dress up my pets so I just... never see or interact with my items lol. I wish we could trade in extra animal eggs for tokens.
