Ticket problems.

The tickets don’t seem to be working on the Hook A Duck place. I can’t get anything off shelf D. The tickets don’t seem to be going through I can’t select any more than 1 colour of a ticket or more than one of a colour at the hook a duck options.
Can anyone help please?

You don't get pets, you get tickets

Trading in 3 trash gives 1 ticket. That's all it is. So if you have extra trash and want more tickets. If you don't need that then there's no point in trading it in. You aren't missing anything.

If I understood your problem correctly, I think you might be confused with the tickets and the duck tokens you get. You give them one ticket, which allows you to hook a duck. The duck will then give you 3 or 5 D Duck tokens (rainbow), which you can use to get pets/items off shelf D.

But if you already knew this, maybe there's a glitch and it might be worth submitting a help ticket? ^_^
