Anyone know what these guys are based on?




I should know them since I love moths, but I just can never remember species names c':

Also this litter in general? I can't find anything in either here or the casual chat by searching

Lunar moth
Atlas beetle (I originally said stag but I'm pretty sure it's actually an atlas)
Lantern fly

My biggest disappointment is something I've been griping about for a while time now-- no chicken pets! You know what the last summer event to include chicken lines was? Slumber party 2013, edited into ravens. I don't know, I'm beginning to feel that chickens are the least popular pet with some artists/staff and or only a few people have permission to edit them. They're some of my favorite pets and lines, so I'm always crossing my fingers that they'll get to participate in events. Junglefowl would've fit in perfectly.

This one is definitely a mood with me. I am super thrilled about all the birds and bird-based pets we've gotten, they're all gorgeous and I love the artists for making them.
But the chickens are my favourite CS species, and every summer event I keep hoping we will get some. They had so much potential for this theme, too.
So not seeing any made me rather sad :c

They would have made great toucans in my opinion :3

That sunset moth is gorgeous!! That's one I don't think I've seen before. I'm sure I would have remembered it.

The BWs are probably based off of caiman, alligators, and other crocodillian family. I don't think they're any specific species, though.

The long nosed hamster is a lantern fly! This specific type is from southeast Asia.


The brown horned hamster is based off rhinoceros beetles, probably Xylotrupes family.

The yellow one indeed looks like a Madagascar Moon moth, and the colorful one a Madagascar sunset moth Yay, bug people!

wait so, thats it for the event? I'm very pleased with the pets this year but the story line? I feel the past few years had such an in-depth story behind them but this year I feel like there wasnt much of anything -

Yeah, I agree. I would have liked a bit more of a storylines me and maybe some additional areas to open up at different times, like we've seen in the past.

But mostly I'm relieved that we got token swaps and 3 extra days of collecting!

I love the hammys we got tonight. The beetle one is really cute.

And the point about snakes being hard to edit VS the hamsters, well here you go! These hamsters are amazing! I can totally see the point about snakes being hard to design and edit. Even if they were coiled up, it'd still be pretty hard to edit them in the way these hamsters and the gorilla dogs were edited.
I love the snake dragons. <3

Secound one I'm now not sure if an atlas beetle or a rhino stag beetle?? I don't know my beetles too well, are rhinoceros beetles different again??? o:

I just wanted the adult cat I was missing. I got the epps kitten... is that considered good or bad luck?

Yeah, I kept trying for the adult cat I missed and I kept getting the other three. I did get all of the butter wolf birds though. I still need to get the other wigs/outfits too, so I will keep trying. Not sure if I missed any dragons or not.
