Do y'all see the eyes in the woods back there on the right? Something's in the hiking trails!

As you’re about to leave, another bird flies up and drops a broken chain dangling a string light on the ground in front of you.

Why the bird do that?? It's the middle of the night and I'm reading all this stuff about cryptids taking ppl I'm a liiiiittle bit paranoid and jumpy now 👀 /lh
A broken chain dangling a string light; I don't like that it's broken, why is it broken 👀, it almost makes me think the birds or smthn else was like, attacking the stuff, ripping apart some of the decorations and general glamp grounds stuff, which could play into the theory that it's the forest fighting back not liking the disturbances that the campers are causing.

Is it really because of the the campers? It seems like this campground has been here for months if not years, so why now?
Im thinking its more likely something out there is spooking the animals more than the campers are. Maybe whatever it is took those string lights out of Cirrus's bear bag last night.

The firetower's scene also has glowy eyes and the rangers station has a creepy bat plush. Its a very spooky woods.

Lunu calls out to you that you need to get back behind the barrier, so you reluctantly oblige. You dive a few times in the more shallow area, but there isn’t much to see. You also spy your friends from the Chocolate Cabin poking around on the lake shore, and everyone from Berry Cabin agrees that you’re probably going to find a better clue than them. After one final dive–where you find some big fish scales–you see that Lunu has stopped watching you and you head back out into the lake.

Sorry we (Choco cabin) snitched...

NEW CHOCOLATE CLUE:
As you expected, your exploration is very efficient and you are soon back at Chocolate Cabin with everyone ready to share what they’ve learned. An order is decided, and this is what the cabin mates who looked around the Firewatch Tower have to say:

The Green Cabin went up to the Firewatch Tower itself, and they said it looked normal. On the ground they found an old coil of rope that looked like it had been abandoned for a while and a rusty spoon. Overall, the area didn’t look disturbed and they saw lots of birds in the trees.

help why do chocolate know more about what green did than us ourselves lol 😭

but a rlly interesting thing to me is!! another mention of birds (linking back to the token trade in message at the watchtower)

As you explore the area around the Firewatch Tower you notice some discarded items that you find beautiful. As you bend down to pick them up a bird swoops in and snatches some of your beads. It seems like the forest has taken payment for your new decorations.

possibly hinting to either a) big flock of birds like that one spooky hitchcock movie or b) some bird-related cryptid? or c)mothman but he befriends the birbs or d) idk im rambling atp

I read the short story the movie's based on and I haven't trusted birds fully since, if they really wanted to.... We wouldn't stand a chance. This also ties in with my last post about maybe the birds attacking the glampsites

Especially because of the wording, I doubt the cryptids did anything, and the trail markers match that theory. Maybe Seraphine and Cirrus went to find the cryptids, and talk to them about whatever's going on at the Glamp Grounds?

Anyone else think that the red eyes in the firewatch tower background look like classic depictions of mothman eyes? According to the mothman wikipedia page their eyes are said to be hypnotic, makes me wonder if that had something to do with the disappearances

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it!

If cryptids are behind this, I hope it's just because they want to be included in the fun. Could be just trying to scare us off so they can have peace and quiet once again though. I imagine from their point of view hundreds of campers showing up in their home and sticking around for days would be quite a shock.

Apple 3:

You try to figure out what it might mean by yourself for a while, but eventually you admit defeat and work up your courage and approach Conall. You draw the symbol in the dirt in front of the fire pit, and Conall lets you know that it’s the sign that marks the beginning of a trail. Maybe you should go follow it? Conall also shows you the other signs a hiker would use to show the right path on the trail.

You gather your gear and your buddy and head back out. It’s getting later in the afternoon now, but there’s still plenty of light to find the trail sign from your photo. The tuft of fur is still stuck to the bark, and you think it definitely looks like it belongs to Seraphine. You follow the trail sign directions into the forest, coming upon some that tell you to keep going straight, others left, and quite a few right. As darkness falls you turn on your flashlights, but the trail signs are thankfully in neon yellow paint and are still easy to pick out.

The only thing that makes me doubt the theory of Cirrus and Seraphine leaving completely aware of what they were doing is that nobody knows what happened (or so we assume). The paint clues that are left makes it seem like Seraphine planned to some extent. Maybe there was a note in her tower we didnt see? We never actually never climbed in the window. (Which is polite but not very thorough.)
Maybe Seraphine saw Cirrus wandering off and went after her?

And im not sure the background having red eyes is important enough to point to mothman. But it is called the cryptid background! (Halloween 21) As long as its not Mason's brother again...
