what would be their motive?
Well, the way I see it, there might be a few options. If they have a good relationship with Wade, they might be simply there to help him out. Hamsters are always picking things up and carrying them around - maybe they found Shelly's missing key and brought it back to Wade?
If they're working on their own, it could be their way of ending the *constant* racing that they have to do during the Jamboree. Think about it - they haven't had a break since this thing started! If one of the hamsters felt slighted on top of that, perhaps being a consistent unpopular design, that might have served as an extra reason to be angry. I've also noticed that a lot of people want to *lose* the race, so they can get the sea pets to go with their own pets. So maybe it's a spite/exhaustion type of deal?

maybe.. the hamster racers are helping wade, found a way to sneak into the castle, and destroyed the instuments?
Maybe? I am not sure as there seems to be a falling out between the three, as Raymond has not only been angry at Steve for inking the track, but is now becoming wary of Gillian...
It could be the case.
Maybe the falling out is because one of the hamsters (Raymond, maybe?) didn't want to help steal the key or destroy the instrument, but had to go along with it? And now he doesn't trust the other two at all.

what if the princess is color blind and the "green monster" is actually supposed to be red?
Assuming that the princess is color-blind, that isn't how color-blindness works. She would see as grey. However, in a half-asleep state, it is very possible that her imagination could have altered the color.
But there's also another factor that we need to consider: it happened at night, and so it probably dark out, which also could have altered the color, but I would think it would be either blue or yellow that would be changed to green under the ocean at night. Although, at certain depths, human blood appears to be green...

It could go the other way around too, Steve and Gillian want to tell, but Raymond threatens to make them look bad if they do.

Though, if they were busy racing, they'd probably be too busy to go anywhere without someone noticing them missing.
