2018 Summer Event: Pet, Item, & Event Discussion

Tonight's dogs/rat were exactly what I wanted/was expecting design-wise out of a jungle event - I'm so happy we got some Aesthetic (TM) pets too ;3;

I'm one who's not really a fan of the apes - I don't dislike them, but I don't really plan on keeping mine or anything. I think the matching masks thing and the fact that they could possibly have been from actual in-universe apes kinda freaked me out on the whole thing.

I really don't think they came from actual in-universe apes ^^' CS does not in any way support animal cruelty, and wouldn't putting something like that in an event on a site for kids.

My only thought when I say the 'smell' comments on the event page was that masks like halloween masks and other full-face masks often smell terrible because they are made of cheap plastic and its obviously in close contact with your nose so it can be pretty strong.

There are a hundred other explanations as to why the masks would smell that don't involve something as graphic as what users have been suggesting.

No, we haven't had any like that. There are a few that have snakes added (the medusa dog from 2016 halloween comes to mind, as well as last halloweens snake cat), and some based off of snakes (there were some snake rats with lineart edits to make them a bit more snake-like). But no fully snake pets, that would really need to be its own lineart, and staff have already said they probably wouldn't do snakes because there isn't much room for designing on that.

I feel like the rat itself could use some shading or something to tie it into the tree better, but the tree itself looks gorgeous

Yeah that was my bad, I feel I could have done better on the rat for sure to make it look just as detailed and pretty as the tree (I would have made it look more like stone probably), but unfortunately I ran out of motivation to continue after drawing the tree + small overgrowth. :'c If I ever do something similar like that again I'll probably be better equipped for art motivation to make everything look nice and detailed! I guess in a sense too I meant for the tree to be the main focus, which it is at least? x'D

Honestly I really love the rat! The only thing I can think of that would make me love it more would be something like the crumbling stone dog from 2010. Which is also one of my all-time favorite pets so I'm probably biased. But I've always loved the idea of the stone statue slowing being consumed by overgrowth so this pet is greatt <3

We got the new birds so I doubt we would get another new species. I think the only chance to have snakes would be edits of this dog to basically remove the dog

Or maybe Eastern Dragons with snek edits? A girl can dream.

That was my original thinking too, especially when i look back at my childhood during halloween, i refused to put those things on my face because that weird smell totally grossed me out (and still kind of does), lol!

I am honestly IN LOVE with every pet I've seen this event, each pet has been above and beyond my expectations!
I'm adoring each new line art, each design, and the colors used!

The only thing I'm disappointed about in the event is my eggs, just about every one I've traded for or bought has turned out to be a white one! Now I need to find more! Oops...

For me, 5/13 of my eggs have been the black macaw ahaha
But I do have 6 eggs at a day old now so fingers crossed that all 6 of them don't turn out to be the all white one @ u @;
