same :( 5 tries and only one otter from it. luckily someone was kind enough to trade me one of their extra otters for 3 fish, but i feel like it should just be easier for us to get the pets, or the pets and the items should be separate, rather than just having to hope you can find someone to trade. this is really making me sad and it's just not a good move on the cs team's part in my opinion. i hope they see how many people are upset with this and don't do this again for future events
i hate to jump in with an unpopular opinion but i really don't mind the item/pet mixing that much? i appreciate CS staff trying to keep events interesting/different each year. i understand the frustration of not being able to get a full set of otters immediately, but the game will be running for the rest of the event, so there'll be time to get everything. right now it might be hard to trade the fish tokens for otters, because there's no trade in for the fish tokens yet. once there's a trade-in for fish tokens, the demand for them will probably increase and it'll be easier to trade for them. staff usually puts a lot of thought into balancing how many tokens things cost so that people have enough to get one of everything by the end.
my perspective might also be different bc i like items. i know a lot of people don't like items, and think of pets as being "better" than items, so i understand why it would be upsetting for those people. even then, i think that once there's a trade-in for the fish tokens, and people are able to spend them to get pets, it will more or less balance itself out. not here to invalidate anyone, just wanted to offer an alternate perspective i guess.
i don't fear token boxes. what i truly fear... is once they start releasing the banner items. if past years are any indication, i WILL hit the banner limit without ever getting any ;-; lol
