I did that at the beginning while ppl were paying more for the tokens

If we were to get one it would have been last rollover, it was probably bypassed since we just got the birthday announcement (CS birthday was on the 8th and Easter was on the 9th). Half of the Easter announcement is letting us know how much of the event is left, which was given in the birthday announcement instead, so that might also be the reason.

How rare are the animal egg items? Specifically the ones from this event. Are there any from this event that are harder to get than others?

I sadly don't know but they probably aren't worth much until the next year I could be wrong though.
