Why is no one suspecting Squiddy?

• 8:50: Calamari was last to leave, no one else was in the room with him unless he let them in or they had a key..
  
• pets with key possibilitie(s)?: Cuttler, Mer-cub or her mom??, Panopea, Finnegan (left), and the conductor himself.

Yeah. Meaning, either Calamari was the eyewitness (why would he choose to be anonymous?) or he let someone in for unknown reasons.
I still can't figure out who the witness would be though, considering the fact that Calamari was the last to leave. Who saw the flash of red? Or was that clue merely a red herring to throw us off track?

Just listing possibilities with what we have:

- conductor: wouldn't sabotage his own event/expensive instruments.

- mer-cub: Is usually bored, but has no red on her at all.

- Panopea: no red

- Cuttler: Also no red, but one of the uniforms did have a red outfit:
(new theory: Cuttler framed.. us??

- mer-cub's mom: unknown

Well the eye witness is a he, this doesn't mean the culprit is a he though.

what if everyone but the witness and cuttler was in on this. It could've been squiddy or maybe the beauty dog made a costume for panopea, and the chef let her in

Wait. "An anonymous eye witness swears he..."

That rules out Panopea and the Boutique dog. However, the most likely eye witness might have been Finnegan.

When it says swears he saw a red flash, it means that the witness was a he. We can't rule out too many ppl yet

I know, I'm not. I'm just saying according to the pinboard, it could have been Finnegan. I don't have enough evidence and information to correctly deduce the witness yet. c:

Edit: Yeah, it could have been two or more people. That would make things a bit more complicated because we wouldn't know who orchestrated this crime without interrogating them or gathering more information,

You know what's suspicious? There isn't any mention of two royal parents, just a queen and her cub. What if the jamboree celebrates the other parent's return bc they were away somewhere else?

Maybe the "Flash of red" is a red herring(no pun intended) and is there is lead us to someone else?
After all, the 'witness' could be the culprit.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but personally I think it'd be Panopea for some reason.
Yes, she's pink, but it was at night when it happened, and some pinks can turn red in the darkness. Plus, she doesn't seem to be fazed by the recent problem.
I turned the brightness down all the way on my computer and phone and this was the result:

Though it's still slightly a shade of pink, maybe if she was fast enough it appeared red. Some squids are also known for their fast swimming speed, and possibly Panopea is one of those squid types.

I still can't figure out who was the witness however. I have my theories it may be the prince/princess since they seem to be the type to sneak in and try to grab some food when no one else is around. Perhaps they stayed anonymous to hide the fact that they were up late to avoid trouble with their parents.

And we honestly still don't know the gender of the tiger cub, maybe it's a he or a she. It's unconfirmed.

hmm... since squiddy has lived with avian all this time and hasn't been to the lost city (? presumably), he might have been curious about the instruments and accidentally broken them?

or it might've been the grumpy dragon, he's kinda reddish. maybe he's still mad about not being invited lolz
