As an artist I refrain myself as much as possible from editing monthly pets. I love the challenge of having to come up with something unique, special looking without really relying on any line edits. With this I think that when events come, my inner line editing monster finally gets unleashed and makes me go wild all over the pets... and things like the cockatrices happen X'D.

You are allowed to make new species? Adoption page says "Other species" but there are only foxes for now
I was dreaming about these things all the time: bulldog, collie, Basilisk, muscle car-designed dogs or horses, hamsters, snakes, ducks. 3/7! XD make some ducks. little yellow ducklings


And... Is there any significant difference beetween Cockatrices ans Basilisks? I just call them "Basilisk" because it's hard to me to write "cockatrices" XD shame

yes, basilisks are snakes (i think x3) and cockatrices are a chicken that breathes poisonous gases

I found in Wiki:

The basilisk is alleged to be hatched by a cockerel from the egg of a serpent or toad (the reverse of the cockatrice, which was hatched from a cockerel's "egg" incubated by a serpent or toad).

Basilisks are snakes, cockatrices are reptilian-bird hybrids.
At least, that's how I imagine them.

both are in classic mythology looking nearly the same. The difference is, that a Basilisk is a snake egg breed by a chicken and the cocktrice is a chickenegg breed by a toad or snake

The original mythological basilisk wasn't a snake, it was a hybric of dragon and rooster just like the cockatrices. The only difference between them, anatomy wise, is that basilisks are HUGE... and that's actually another reason why I prefer to call my pets cockatrice. Given their proportions I easily picture them being just as big as a regular chicken.

For cockatrices as compared to basilisks, the mythological basilisk is supposedly more reptilian but the main difference is in their origins. The basilisk is from the egg of a serpent or frog that is hatched by a rooster, while the cockatrice is the egg of a rooster hatched by a frog or serpent. :3 And then, of course, there are real basilisks, which are really pretty adorable.

I got soooo lucky it seems! I got at least one outcome of each and three doubles. And I only "bought" 8 eggs total. I have one day 5 double left for anyone that wants to offer.
