What are tags?

I've noticed that is most roleplays people write tags: something and I was wondering what those are?

Hi there!
When people post their roleplay replies, they will often 'tag' the other characters which are mentioned in their post. For example if my character A is talking to character B who is roleplayed by another person, I would tag character B. This makes it easier for group roleplayers to find exactly which posts involve their characters, and so what events they will need to take into account when writing their own characters' next posts.
