Help with character design

Hello, I decided this was the best place to put this, but I am redesigning an old roleplay characterand I came up with 5 different ideas. I have asked some friends for the input but still would like some more help. I will post and image and explain the reasoning behind all 5 of them. There is a poll at the top for all 5, if you want to give me some advice, comments, Ideas for combinations of traits ect. please comment, I would love that


I would like to mention that this character is a genie

1. is playing off of his depressed and emotional side by giving him a shaved head. This character is often angry and your typical dark brooding anime character (not really, but he does have a bit of that trait.) don't judge based on the tattoo, as I decided I would give him that in all the designs, just in different locations, like chest, back, shoulder, ect. :twisted:

2. as this character is a genie I decided to play off the slave role that genies have in media and his lore. A lot of slave/harem members in media seem to have this attire. He would wear this kind of a sarcastic and self deprecating joke. Also he looks super pretty, admit it. The green gem also has a bit of significance as his best friend always wears green clothes

3. A vagabond and lonely feel went into this one. perhaps hiding in every dark and empty corner to keep his identity secret. With long unkept hair that would never receive any attention

4. This one seems to be a fan favorite to my friends and family, but it does not carry any design element to his personality or history. It is just a more tradition genie garb

5. The scarf, which is a big part to his past, is a huge design feature and is used a turban other that just a headband or scarf.


Disclaimer: just because one may be chosen by everyone, doesn't mean I will pick it. This is an important character to me and I am looking for input and advice to make a decision.
plus there is a technique where someone or something makes an unbiased choice for you, and if you feel disappointed in the choice, you know to choose a different one

Personally 4 is my favorite. I like the red hood and the head scarf a lot, and I feel that they fit well, especially together. The hood is my favorite part of this design. I like the color and pattern it has. I probably would have kept the hair a bit shorter, like in 2, where it is kinda loose, raged, and wispy.

However, I can tell you want the design to reflect the character's history. Perhaps if you could go into a little more detail on the story I could better take it into account? In the mean time, the stork tattoo could be moved to the body of any character, bringing in at least that connection to his past.

Thank you very much, i do feel like the fancy hood does fit well so maybe i can have some colorful gold embelished fabrics through his clothes

And the story, oh dear, i mightve made it a bit too long when i made him but i will give you a run down
Genies were a thing that exists pretty commonly in the past, they were almost omnipotent but needed to take life from other beings to acheive that. They were enslaved for protection but when they were forced to grant wishes, they took a bit their own life.
Seven saw his mother die trying to protect him and accidentally let his little sister get enslaved and killed
Ater 2000 year there are only seven left of his kind (kind of how he got his name, all the others forgot their names after so long so they renamed themselves after numbers) and he has become a very bitter person.

The stork tattoo emulates his mother, father (who died due to natural causes) and little sister, and the scarf was given to him by his mother, which he tore in half and gave the other half to his little sister.

Thank you, I am really glad someone else like 2 too. I was a little worried if I used the one I liked, the character would feel like a really messed up design
