Marie is the medic on the ship. Before the disaster, she had just been employed as a doctor in a local hospital. When they were looking for recruits she put her name down. She was accepted. There was no family she needed to stay with- her parents had died two years earlier- and she knew if she wasn't accepted she would die on the planet.

Marie is incredibly sharp, in fact she found school so easy she started university at sixteen. She has never been fazed by gore, but rather fascinated with how it came to be. As a result, medicine was her chosen field. She can perform surgery if necessary. Her natural sarcasm can make her come across as blunt and overly honest, but she is incredibly compassionate and caring. Marie has quite the temper, and if you get injured doing something stupid, expect a lecture. Her outlook on life is generally pessimistic. She has very strong moral standards, and refuses to break away from them.
