shortly after her birth, umeko's mother fled to deep within the
uncharted forest, with her husband and newly born child right
alongside her, the mother accused of being a witch after
giving birth to a child with such light hair, despite neither her
nor her partner having light hair. they were skilled and handy
people, especially umeko's father, so it was almost no challenge
to construct a sturdy cabin as well as establish a quaint farm,
seeing as they would have to grow and craft everything for
themselves. a few years later, umeko's father, chesna, had gone
out to hunt during the winter and didn't return right away,
days started to pass by and yet he still did not return, the
white haired girl, too young to even comprehend things such
as death, was told by her mother that her father had decided
to travel around the world, and wouldn't be back until much
later. and of course she had believed her mother, not only
was she a child but she as a person was gullible and naive.

a few more years passed, umeko was now about twelve, her
mother had started to become ill more and more frequently,
not even a year later she was bedridden. the young girl now
had to take care of all the chores, her mother sometimes
assisting with sewing if she was feeling up to it. about two
years later, her mother, yuzuki, had passed away in the
spring, and she was completely alone, with the exception
of a few chickens they kept. not being very well educated
on language in the first place, seeing as her parents never
bothered to teach umeko how to read or write, or even teach
her about the concept of formalities. on top of that they
spoke in a rural dialect, and being alone for several years
later only caused her speech to worsen, somehow coming
up with her own strange accent when she did speak,
which was not often.

bit of history; shinobu's had a pretty regular childhood, he had two older sisters and one younger brother who were all
extremely musically and artistically inclined, which lead to a lot of pressure on him from his parents to pursue a skill of

growing up in slums of an overpopulated, overrated, and very successful city, riles was better off than most others, despite his biological father leaving his
is biological mother shortly after he was born, she remarried a dear friend of hers a few years later in a platonic relationship. leaving the boy to grow up with two
th two mom's and no father. one would think this would lead him to become rather feminine, seeing as shortly after turning five they also adopted a girl a few years older than himself, but in fact it had little effect on him, in fact it had no effect on the person he is today, if he had not been, well frankly if he had not been such a brat in his early teens he would of been brought up to be a rather fine gentlemen, but rather he decided to nothing but rebel and be ungrateful to his extremely forgiving mothers and elder sister. riles would purposely hang out with the wrong crowd, often gambling, stealing among a few other illegal activities here and there, he's obtained quite the tough outer shell, having what's been known across the country as possibly the best poker face to exist as well as a dangerously adept silver tongue. the young man has talked himself out of getting arrested more than a dozen times, but that's not to say bribery wasn't also involved. being a drop out of highschool he had much more time to spend focusing on acquiring more money, whether by legal means or not, he worked at a bar for some time, seeing as one can work at such an establishment underage should they have the right legal permissions for it, he's made quite a few acquaintances while he worked there, as well as become very proficient in alcoholic beverage mixing.

since about the age of twelve he's been entirely dependent on coffee, he both hates and loves the stuff, he refuses to sweeten it no matter how bitter it tastes but has grown to like the taste, but seeing as he literally cannot go a few waking hours without it he has grown to hate it and his dependency on it. it's a weakness, a vulnerability, a habit he needs to shake but has been unable to, he's not sure if it would have been better of him to take up smoking instead.

tanaka is a pretty lovable guy, he grew up with some
very protective and somewhat strict parents, so there's

strength's and weaknesses more in depth being the little bird nerd he was, tanaka had wanted to join the local bird watching group
that his aunt had belonged to when he was only twelve. though the elder members of the group were prepared to cheer him up for
not seeing as many birds as he would perhaps want to when they were surprised to have him be the one pointing out more than
half of the birds. not only did he recognize so many different breeds and species, he was quick to spot them, even if they were far
off, with or without binoculars, even if they easily blended in with the foliage or other plant life, he'd find them. he was deemed
somewhat of a birdwatcher prodigy seeing as their old trained eyes were no match for his young and naive glimmering ones.
throughout the rest of his life as well as before he was twelve he was always noted of having good eyesight, nothing superhuman
but he was able to pick out and notice things far before anyone else around him did. he was and is extremely observant, and
actually has a good eye when it comes to things such as interior design, he's been studying body language for a few years though still
hasn't gathered all he can about it, his memory is also quite remarkable, it's not quite photographic but comes very close, he can
remember things from when he was three years old quite vividly, every book he's ever read he's only read once, with the exception
of his favorites, which he rereads, he can recall conversations fairly well too, but when it comes to math or science, he can only
tell you basic stuff from a fifth grade level.

though he's not exceptionally skilled in any field, tanaka is rather athletic and in great physical condition, he does a sport every
season, soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter and baseball in the spring and summer, as well as running every evening all
year round. so no, he can't exactly help in the kitchen or anything else domestic that would help with survival, but he's strong,
he prefers not to fight but he'll defend and protect someone he's friendly with even if they didn't ask, he can carry people
as well as other heavy loads. though, tanaka is not the perfect teen by any means, he's exceptionally clumsy and blunt, not
thinking twice before doing or saying anything and often regretting it. he has trouble recognizing when it is and isn't appropriate
to try and comfort or speak with someone, and being overly cautious
he often jumps to conclusions which leads to plenty of misunderstandings and negativity thrown his way. he's quite squeamish and
the sight and sometimes even the mention of blood causes him to become very nauseous and light headed, so helping with anything
more than a cold is not something he can manage. he's naive, too quick to forgive and too quick to trust, often allowing himself as
well as other's to be hurt because of his gullible nature, he refuses to get violent unless absolutely necessary, and when he's angry
he's a stubborn mess that has a mix of mature and childish ways of going about things.

madjorie has never been known as someone with exceptional kindness or understanding,
she's cold, stubborn and quite frankly a bit ruthless at times, but it's not out of malice,
most of the time anyway, but more so out of her protective and logical nature. if, per say,
your life was in danger, but rescuing you would endanger the rest of the team she was
apart of or in charge of, you would not be saved, not because she doesn't care, but because
it's less loss, one life lost rather than several. that said, madge very much likes to be in
control and in charge, a bit of a control freak and perfectionist she likes things to go a certain
way because she feels she knows best, she'll cooperate if someone else is in charge, but
she'll be quite stubborn and constantly try to "back street drive" in a way. but with all these
vices she does have some virtues, though she's not the best at expressing them she does have
emotions, and she does feel compassion for those close to her, and it's usually a rather strong
passion that leads her to be very protective and rather loyal as well, but no matter how
much of her affection you win she'll never stop being snarky. archer was born to a two doting
parents, growing up with an older brother and grandmother as well and due to her own
frustration as to how things were being handled in the government she joined the military,
her father was a mapmaker, which wasn't exactly a secure job seeing as everyone lived within
the walls and didn't have much use for maps, but he worked with the survey corps, helping
them map out areas they've been to and such. this being what mainly inspired her to start
her path in the corps, but all her plans had come crashing down as she, as well as the rest
of the cadets she had been grouped with, were abandoned during a mission outside of the
walls, where they've all been ever since. but she doesn't exactly mind being out here, she
likes it better than the society that abandoned them in the first place.
when it comes to romantic preferences, madjorie doesn't have any preference regarding
gender but she tries not to focus too much on the matter, knowing it's a bad decision to
become emotionally attached to someone in such a way, but she's still a human and can't
help her emotions, even if they're a bit slow to develop.
