What would be your dream Summer Event theme??

I posted this on a different thread, but these are the ones I would be most excited to see:

Battle of the Bands
I've been keeping my fingers crossed for this one for a good bit. I think it has a lot of potential for exciting pet designs and items.
I would especially like to see some of those funky electric guitar designs, but it would also be a good opportunity to add more equipment like amps and drumkits that I don't think we have on the site.
I think 80s hair metal would be fun for clothing and wigs, and KISS-style makeup might be good too.
Even though rock is a staple of this kind of event, I think it would be more popular with users other styles are represented, like K-Pop, rap/hip-hop, even barbershop quartet.
Artists like Lady Gaga and Elton John can probably provide some solid inspiration for campy costumes as well.
And I think iconic accessories like Michael Jackson's white glove, John Lennon's glasses, etc. would be safe from copyright infringement and would be fun easter eggs to include.

Wild West
Areas could include the saloon, county jail, a train station. Characters archetypes of the Sheriff, Mysterious Stranger, and Outlaw could easily work for the NPCs. As for the issue of guns, I think that could be avoided by replacing them with something silly like bananas or something gimmicky, like having a pea-shooter literally shoot peas.
Bandanas, vests, cowboy boots & hats would all be really fun clothing items. I think horse enthusiasts would also be happy to receive high quality saddles and other horse-riding accessories. Having wanted posters as items would also be fun.

Tanabata Festival
It doesn't need to specifically be the Tanabata Festival, I think any Japanese-inspired summer festival would work well. We've done ancient Egypt already, and I think many users would like to see Japan represented as well. The Meiji and Edo eras would probably be good to base it on, since that's when samurai were active (I think), and the armor has good item potential. Additionally, traditional dress like yukata would be good to include, as well as staple festival foods like taiyaki, takoyaki, grilled squid. Room items like shoji screens and hanging picture scrolls would also be nice to see. And fans.
I think traditional Japanese art and textile design, as well as folklore, would be excellent sources for pet design. It's something that I would definitely look forward to.

Victorian Era
I admittedly don't know much about this era, but its fashion is certainly well remembered. Those piled-on wigs and elaborate dresswear would be cool items to have. The wigmaker's, tailor's, and cobbler's could all be areas where free items are released as well as tokens exchanged. not zinnia's idea of a masquerade ball would also fit well here. The plot could also involve a Sherlock Holmes character that needs the player's help to uncover a mystery. Perhaps the prime suspect is attending the ball? It might be fun to make all the NPCs have slightly suspicious activities/backgrounds that are intermittently revealed to keep everyone guessing who the suspect is.

An Olympus event involving ancient Greece & its mythology could also be really fun! I don't think the site has many pets based on Olympian gods and goddesses, so I think there's a lot of potential for this one.

I am 1000% not immune to the cryptid/summer camp/camping idea! I think this would fit the various little mini mechanics we've had over other summer events very well, like having different teams/cabins to align with, a lot of items could work very well as tokens, etc.

also I don't know how many people would care about this except me but I think this event would be spectacular for stamps! imagine having them be like little badges like you earn in the scouts? :0

A gaming themed event would be cute, I know the Internet event had a few gaming references but I means games specifically. I always find it super charming when something makes references to specific games without overtly copying it, thinking like TF2 hats that make references to media without being direct rips of it lol.

My top "dream event" would be a Renaissance Festival! I admit it would/could be a bit similar to the Medieval Faire, but I think that enough time has passed since then & the event itself could be distinct enough to be distinctly different. Plus, summer events have come a long way!

I think a summercamp / camping / hiking / cryptid event is probably my favorite suggestion besides that! I know a lot of other people have already mentioned that. NPCs could be camp counselors, park rangers, etc. I think between those four themes, there's a ton work with. Have mountain, River, waterfall, & lake on the map. Activities could include picnicing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater raftinging, tubing, hiking, tree-climbing, rock-climbing, rock-skipping contest, bird-watching, zip-lining, mushroom hunting, foraging, & my personal favorite: scary stories around the campfire! (Don't forget the s'mores!)

Another idea i think would be really fun is a chickensmoothie convention! I think that could combine a lot of elements of other ideas/themes people want that are perhaps too small to have their own event. I would love to see booths / panels for past summer events, perhaps merch (either limited re-releases of certain items or themed items that would fit in with the pets events similar to the "missing littermate" Vibe) , Q&As/meet & greets with NPCs. (Maybe even a visit from Avian herself??) There could also be other convention elements: anime, gaming, pop culture, superhero, comic book, & music being some of the most popular types of conventions that I know of. There could be game rooms, a concert/musicians, a rave/party, an artist alley, a merch corner, & of course, cosplay! I think a convention would be a lot of fun; they're some of my favorite real-life summer events!

Speaking of music, the battle of the bands idea sounds so fun! I think we could include a bunch of different genres of music to get elements from other ideas as well! Rocker, Classic rock, oldies, country, Funk, Punk, Disco, Hippy, Scene, Goth, Emo, Metal, Folk, Rap, Pop, K-pop, J-Pop, Hip-hop, Classical, Acoustic, Accapella, etc!

The mystery / haunted mansion idea also sounds really fun! I think we could combine the Victorian Era, a masquerade ball, & then a mysery! ("Murder" , or theft if that's perhaps too mature- "the SunJewel Diamond has been stolen!") Maybe add the spy- theme suggestion in.

The board game idea is really cute!!

Someone said deep-sea, & that's been a life-long passion of mine. I would adore deep-sea creatures & hydrothermal vent communities. Perhaps you're a research assistant gathering samples? Sadly I can't think of much else that hasn't been already done during the Beach or Lost City events. Still love the idea!

I also really like the "wild west" theme idea. My only concern is I don't know if there is a properly respectful way to reference Native Americans.

The old teddies idea gave me one... maybe a trip to Grandma's house? This could also include the storybook theme! Though I did love the library idea...

Love the community garden idea. Would work well with the farm idea! Could be a bunch of small farms!

The mall idea is super cute! Could work with 80s/90s/2000s theme. Also, mall goths, not-topic, kid-core in baby stores, food court, etc.

I think a cloud/ancient greece idea would be really beautiful & could bring back some favorite elements of past events like the slumber party & Egypt Event.

I also like the art theme! Maybe you're going to art-camp? You'd definitely be visiting a museum or gallery!

A sight-seeing trip could be fun! Send me a postcard!

Okay... there's no way I could comment on every idea, but there are a ton of great ideas in this thread! Excited to see this summer event & the events for years to come!

Ah, there are a lot of top-notch suggestions already. I'll throw my hat in the ring though with these two: A cyberpunk city theme or a like... dystopian crumbling city theme. Both nighttime themes, preferably!

I'm definitely also down for a Japanese holiday, anime (perhaps magical girl), or pirate-themed event. A rave-themed event would be awesome, too.

Lol I love to see a dog in a roller coaster cart like the hamsters, but with a freaked out face, or one with a bad hair day from the ride

Pets dressed up as some of the list/famous pets on CS like how they do at Disney.


Items to adopt can be food, food store stuff, like a window wall with food on it to sell.

Costumes, balloons, roller coaster carts to put your pets in.
