Like you have a specific path before you and you travel by horse or foot. You could stumble across NPCs with small sidequests, like someone with an injured leg and you need to collect sticks and herbs to aid it, so you can take this person to the next stop (like a village or just a small food stall at a highly traveled part of your path) You could need to collect mushrooms, berries and other edibles, eat around a fire camp. Slowly growing your traveling party and getting to know each other more and more while enjoing the woods and the travel itself
I always loved the traveling parts in books and stories. Just the adventure, the nature and all the sights to see and the people to meet. When I was young, I was hiking a lot. We had hiking holidays with my grandparents and sometimes my mother would join us as well if she could get of off work. Later I had a friend were we were hiking together each sunday. Just no destination, no timeline, no expectations. Just us, our feet that carried us, a sandwich and water in our backpacks and the paths we chose to walk on just a hunch/a feeling. We often had no idea where we even were, but somehow we always found our way back home. One time we endet up in the far outskirts of the city, though it was just a 20 minute walk to get back to the main area of our city.
(sorry if it sounds a bit weird/is written weirdly. English isn't my native language and it's already 1am)
Ps I saw somehow mentioning sakura season in japan. I always loved this aesthetic and would love to see all the designs that could be based off of it ^^
I really want a cryptid/folklore/mystical/enchanted hike through the Appalachian trail !!!

There are tons of possibilities!
Monopoly-city area
Chessboard-Victorian area with fancy folk
Snakes and Ladders-self explanatory
Battleship-steampunk/boat area
Twister-not a board game but would make a great dance floor
Ticket to Ride-train station is the hub that connects all the other areas
and of course...
Clue-A mysterious mansion that hides who/what the cause of the games coming to life is

YES YES AND MORE YES PLEASE DO BOTH MAKE IT A BOARDGAME EVENT!!
I agree, this has So many possibilities 🤔👍
Please do NOT bump my thread. Thanks
PLEASE do NOT offer me rats or chickens- I'm not interested in collecting those. Thank You ☺

The camping theme is pretty well discussed already, but I'll add my two cents anyhow.
Turning it into a summer camp event, with counselors and cabins would really help round out the story line. Users could pick (or be randomly assigned) a "team" and receive a camp t-shirt item in their cabins colors/design, and mini events would center on activities commonly done at camp, like archery, canoeing, campfire stories, star gazing, etc.
This would also open the door for our traditional mid-point "plot twist"; perhaps with a campfire story about local cryptids coming to wreak chaos on the camp one night? They don't even have to be existing cryptids, they could absolutely (preferably?) be creatures unique to CS's landscape. Maybe they're tired of campers making a mess of their woods every year, or maybe there's a business development slated to break ground at the end of the camping season and they need help preventing it!
