eyespot mimicry is so cool, the first thing i thought of when i saw this dragon was how dang scary it'd be to see those huge shimmery eyes staring at you from the dark

This is the first digital artwork I've done in probably around 10-15 years, I only ever briefly dabbled in digital art many years ago (so please be gentle with me lol).

Seeing this challenge be announced maaay have inspired me to follow through with buying a drawing tablet lol learning how to use everything is certainly going to take a while, but I figured that this challenge would be a good motivator to try out something fun for my first project

For the scene, I wanted to mix a bit of past AND future by having a dog from the future escaping from some robo-squids through a portal to the past.

I took the futuristic side of the prompt in a more sinister cyberpunk-ish direction lol... Poor dog getting some tech upgrades that it didn't necessarily want :0 Maybe the wolf is taking control for its own ends?

A cockatiel raptor flutters down from a low branch, talons clicking softly as they land beside a shimmering puddle. With a delighted chirp, equal parts fierce and fluffy, they hop in, wings spreading wide as they throw themselves into the splashy chaos. Water droplets fly like glittering confetti, catching the light as the raptor shakes their head, crest puffed up in pure glee. Tail flicking, feathers soaked, they stomp and wiggle with the seriousness of a dragon but the joy of a duck. Every plop and plink of falling droplets is a tiny celebration of bath time glory. Fearsome? Perhaps. Adorable? Absolutely.

I do wonder why they started giving out rares & such for both this & the dressup challenges { along with those being featured now }.. well I suppose it does help get people more inclined to join in & make it more befitting for the Challenge title. Think potentially giving newer players a chance to get better pets too but I dunno.

This guy is my favourite pet! I got him from my very first trade on here!! He reminds me of my dog, Gibbs. That's why I named him Goober! (that's what I always call Gibbs ^^)
