LET ME TELL YA’LL A STORY ABOUT THIS THING.
We had a really windy day yesterday. So windy it knocked ma dang power out. Initially I thought “ahah, look at that. how fun. glad this affects me in no major way whatsoever.” HOWEVER. I had been working on this piece for a good amount of time prior to the power peacing out on us. I’m not always great about periodically saving things. ( : That had not yet occurred to me when I had to leave for work, went to save, and it said some technical version of “yeah no can do buddy”. I said “WHAT do you MEAN”, ran to google and quickly realized I was dumb and didn’t have Wi-Fi, which my iPad requires.
So I left the tab open on my iPad all day hoping to anything and everything that when the Wi-Fi came back the page didn’t refresh and make me cry.
By some miracle.
IT DID NOT. phew.

anyway that’s also why the timer says 14 hours. ngl when I saw that I was like “ : o ,, n o,,, w a y” and then realized I literally left it open the entire time I was at work and didn’t have wifi. /dumb

Magnus, a Dragon of the Hearth

Magnus's place on the Hearth represents companionship, devotion, full bellies, warmth, and being surrounded by loved ones

Colors:
- traditionally some shade anywhere from yellow to orange
- modern use has seen dao using colors with close meaning to themselves or a loved one
- small mark is traditional, large variation is more of a modern approach

Methods:
- paint (applied daily)
- dye (reapplied when shedding)
- tattoo (cannot be seen once fur grows back, permanent)
- traditionally used paint, provides more frequent opportunities for color changes
- modern day dao tend to prefer dye as to not have to reapply as frequently
- tattooing of this Dragon is common, a way to hold the values close to one's heart without needing to show it to the world

Following:
- casual worship in times of need/want is common and encouraged
- seen as both the softer side of grief and the gentleness of unconditional love
- often apply the mark for emotional stages in life, either in honor of a lost one, a new birth, or the dragon itself
- not uncommon to see the mark painted on way stations and the threshold of open door homes
- those who devote themselves entirely to this dragon strive to uphold its values in day-to-day life, never turning down a dao in need (though be wary of trying to deceive them, as their dragon blesses them with insight)

Necro, the Dragon of Destruction

Necro is Destruction in that all things must come to an end and start the cycle of life anew. He allows for things to be destroyed, both physically and mentally, in order for new things to be created from their loss - a controlled burn that allows a forest to be reborn stronger.

Colors:
- traditionally white when breaking, black when healing, greys in the transitions between
- modern use has seen a deviation from these patterns, an acknowledgment that the differing stages of the cycle are not always separate
- black and white still the primary colors of choice but not exclusive

Methods:
- paint (applied daily)
