TOTA npc for the new event 👀

Working on a multi-species UMA hat ties into Kelphons, sketched this guy out with my laptop, since I've already got most of the species' lore put together, and only missing the sketches/rough drafts of their exact appearances. Consider this an interest check.

The creature seen above is of the Lantern Strider.

Over time, I'll be adding more creatures to this drawing, as well as their general descriptions and more detailed depictions of them. Feel free to add suggestions on what I should add, like possible traits, new creatures (give a description), world-building ideas, etc.

Creature List:
Bellkeeper - A tall, bipedal creature that vaguely resembles a deer. It has three heads, however, they are not in a normal arrangement. They are stacked vertically, one on top of the other. They speak constantly, though the language is ancient, long forgotten. It's body is covered in long fur, appearing cloak-like at times. When it is nearby, if the heads have for once gone quiet, you can hear the sound of church bells emanating from the creature.

Crown Hydra - Despite its name, it is not a "true" Hydra. Rather than growing multiple heads each time one is cut off, it grows multiple heads as it ages. If one head happens to be slain, it will not grow back. They are referred to as "Crown Hydras" because of the jewel or gold-like scales that grow around the base of their horns. Each head acts independently from the others, all with their own unique vocalizations and personalities. Only one head is in control of the body, that being the largest head in the center of the cluster.

Lantern Strider - A nocturnal herding creature that overall appears to be a cross between a giraffe and some sort of deep-sea fish. They are semi-aquatic (amphibius) and have several bioluminescent organs running along their spines. Rather than true eyes, they have sensory organs on their faces that detect light and magnetism. Their overall temperament it calm and reclusive, rarely ever being seen by humans.

Thornback - This creature is by far the largest our scientists have discovered, nearly 30 feet at the shoulders. So far, only a handful have been found, and the appear to be mainly solitary, as when they were grouped together, they began to fight for resources. They appear to resemble a cross between a mammoth and some sort of turtle. Their backs appear to have a thick, spiny shell fused with the spine, while their faces have both a reptilian beak, as well as massive tusks and a trunk. Despite the spines, or "thorns" on their shells, their backs are almost perfectly flat, parallel to the ground. A few of the ones we found even seemed to have at one point had small living spaces built onto their shells, based on what appears to be ruined campsites.

Mirror Hound - A medium-to-large dog-like beast, usually resembling various types of Hound Dogs, as the name suggests. The most common of these variants are that of the Foxhound, Borzoi, Greyhound. However, they have been seen resembling smaller breeds, such as Basset or Dachshunds, though this is quite rare to see. They, much like most canids, are pack oriented. However, what makes these pups special are the "phantom heads" surrounding the main head. These heads float around the main one, and appear to be mostly transparent. The reason they are called Mirror Hounds is because the way the phantom heads seem to "mirror" the true dog's inner thoughts, and are, unfortunately for the dogs, dead giveaways to how they truly feel.

Shepherd of Teeth - An eight-legged, solitary predator that possesses bone-like protrusions that take on the appearance of animal skulls, most commonly resembling those of canids or similar. These protrusions are solely that. Like antlers. Oddly, they were named "Shepherd of Teeth" because their bodies are covered in armored plating (made of ivory) that heavily resemble teeth, specifically, the incisor and canine teeth.

Knotscale - Similar to the Crown Hydra, this creature is born with a singular head and grows more as it ages, usually having 3-5 by its elder stage. Each head has a specific function. One is used to track scent, one might focus on movement, and another may be in control of the body. It's body itself is a bit strange, shaped for agility, much like a cat. However, most of it's body is covered in scales, while other parts, such as around it's crest, tail, or neck, may be covered in feathers.

Chior Beast - A five headed creature that resembles a cross between the "American Buffalo" (Bison), and some sort of herbivorous dinosaur. This creature's heads are arranged in a semi-circle, with one on the center and two on either side of it. Each head serves a different function. The center head eats, the outermost heads watch and listen for predators, and the innermost heads next to the center head listen and memorize. It is referred to as the "Chior Beast" because its vocalizations sound almost as though it is singing. Usually, the center head is the only one the make sound, however, under specific circumstances, all five heads will "sing", such as during the mating season. These creatures are commonly kept on farms to keep predators away from the livestock, or to warn of incoming danger. It is believed that the heads sing as a sign that a natural disaster will soon come to the area.

Burrow King - An insecticide-mammalian creature, resembling that of a burrowing rodent and a beetle. Species may vary, so you might have some like a naked mole-rat crossed with a stag beetle or a shrew crossed with a jewel beetle. Regardless, these creatures are typically very small, with their size depending on their beetle-halves, so, they're usually no larger than the size of one's hand. They live in colonies, with a "King" as their leader. They were named "Burrow Kings" because, originally, only the kings of their species were observed, which was usually because the rest of the colony was hidden underground, while the largest male in the group went out to defend his "kingdom" from our human biologists.

man this was a lot of work I'm not gonna lie. this is my first ever "real" oekaki and it might be my last. oekaki on ipad is no fun :'D

anyway this drawing is a tribute to defqon.1's stage this year! it is the most epic stage ever (yes, a whole HUGE dragon) in my opinion and the fact that the festival got canceled due to the insane heatwave is beyond sad. I personally didn't have a ticket but when I heard the news that the 50k people who were already there on thursday had to leave it broke my heart. when I finally saw how amazing the stage was this year it broke my heart even further.

I know not many people like my kind of music, but hardstyle is such an important part of my life. to people like me, it is more than "just music", it's a philosophy and a way of life. this music may have saved me before and turned me into who I am today. despite having hard bass and fast beats, often times hardstyle is about embracing your individuality and about knowing that there is a place where we all belong, where no one is alone and to keep going forward no matter what. when I'm listening to hardstyle, I feel at peace.

I can only recommend everyone to go ahead and watch the defqon.1 endshow of 2026 (warning for many flashing lights though). despite there being no people due to the cancelation of the event, they still did the endshow (with an empty stage, it's weird seeing the place usually filled with 70k+ people empty) and posted it on youtube. even if you don't like hardstyle it is worth watching, the lightshow and fireworks are absolutely out of this universe!

also if you did watch this endshow and enjoyed it, I highly highly recommend watching the endshow of 2023!! the stage isn't as epic but the tracks they play and the fireworks,,, oh my god imo it's the best they ever had!!

one day I will be there as well and when that day comes I'll probably bawl my eyes out but it'll be SO worth it!! anyways I'm gonna stop my ramblings now, I just had to get this off my chest because this topic is very dear to me. if you made it this far in my wall of text: thank you for reading through it, we will rise again 🧡

Hello new and old followers :0 pleasure to meet you as we all get lost in this world we live in!
I've noticed I gained a bit of a following from the recent feature (very grateful for that!)

FINALLY found time and felt well enough to complete my first Art Fight revenge. Shameless plug: My  . Team Tragedy. I REALLY leaned into that theme with this one. And it's REALLY experimental - very, very different from my usual art. Focused solely on revenges this year unless I miraculously find time lying around on the floor or something inspires me so much that I can't contain myself. <3

The tragedy behind the art (abridged). Violet (the poor kitty) has lost every person they loved one by one over the course of their life to various tragedies. This piece is right after the last of their friends/family has passed away. Her and her mother had fallen off the cliff together, yet only she emerged after the fall. Alone on a barren shore, dripping wet, cold, scarred, mourning, and watching the sun set over a sea of tragedy.

Maybe after this tragedy, she'll chart a new path in life and find new love that will stay. Poor kitty. <3
