Olive was always known by Sebastian to be the fastest runner he knew. Often times, the two friends would get into a joke race, and Olive would outrun him to the imaginary finish line every time.
It wasn't much different this time, with her far ahead and Sebastian struggling to catch up to her on the hill.

The land around them was surrounded in a warm summer breeze, with the skies a gorgeous blue. The clouds above them twisted and turned to create brand new shapes to discover. Below them, the bright green grass was soft and waved in the wind.
A perfect day.

Sebastian was eventually able to catch up to Olive at the top of the hill. He was completely out of breath by that point, panting as he finally reached the top. His deer friend stood right at the top, waiting for him to get himself up to her.
At the top of the hill, in a contrast to the bright and sunny environment around the two pets, was a dark leafless oak tree with branches that twisted far into the sky. The roots beneath it curled across the ground.

"Took you long enough." Olive joked as Sebastian walked over to her.
"..I- I could've got up before you, I just...wasn't feeling up to it." Sebastian joked back. Olive giggled in response.
Sebastian turned his head and caught a sight to behold. The field below them seemed to stretch on for miles into a foggy and surreally beautiful horizon. This same image surrounded the hill in all directions.

Olive leaned against the dark tree. "Nice up here, huh?"
Sebastian responded, still staring at the skies beyond. "Yeah, we haven't hung out in forever. This is a really good spot."

For a while, the two of them just stood and listened to the distant wind noises. As Sebastian looked out from the hill, a thought suddenly barged into his mind. It was one of those thoughts that you just couldn't get to leave you alone. He turned to Olive.
"Olive, when's the last time we-"
"Sebastian, look." Olive interrupted. She pointed her hoof up at one of the branches.
The dog looked and saw small colorful wind chimes made of tiny glass pieces hanging off of the branch.

He recognized these wind chimes. "Are those the wind chimes your mom got for your porch? The fancy ones?"
Olive nodded. "Yeah, she got them before our last hangout session. Y'know, the final one."

Sebastian got a confused look on his face. "The final one? What do you mean by that...?"
The deer turned to face him. Her emerald eyes had gained a unique glow to them.

"The final one. August 15th."

"But...it's not- it wasn't the final one, we're hanging out here right now." Sebastian pointed out, confused.
"Yeah, you'd think that. Look at the horizon again." Olive replied, her voice now a bit softer.

The dog turned back to the horizon. The fog was now gone, and the field seemed to end right at a small ledge in the distance. He thought he could see a cloud just suddenly disappear out of existence in the sky.
When he turned back around, a small purple and blue wisp was floating silently next to Olive.

This is when the realization finally came to him. Olive spoke up.

"Do you remember what I said to you before you went home?" She asked him.
Sebastian didn't want to think of that right now, but it seemed like he was forced to.

"You...told me to never forget our friendship. And that you cared a lot about me." He answered with a downcast tone of voice. Olive nodded.
"Then the day after that you left. Got your backpack and left town."

"That's right. And you've been remembering me ever since." Olive said to him.
"Yeah...yeah." Sebastian replied.

The wind seemed to get quieter. The wind chimes began to sing a tune of bell-like sounds.

"This place will disappear once you wake up." Olive whispered. "It always did."
"I know." Sebastian whispered back.
"It's almost time for that." The deer looked up at the wind chimes. "A lovely melody to end this off, yes?"

"Wait- Olive? Olive, what are you doing?" Sebastian questioned, a pang of fear running through him.

The wisp next to Olive suddenly zipped away from her side and slammed right into the dark tree, sending the wind chimes off of the branch and crashing down onto the grass. The tree lit up in a glow, and golden cryptic eyes began to pattern themselves across the tree's entirety.

"Wake up, Sebastian. You've got your days to live and I've got mine." Olive softly spoke to him.

"Wait- Wait! OLIVE, DON'T GO, I NEED YOU- !" Sebastian shouted, running towards her.

And just like that, the dog found himself in his room, lying in his bed once more, with only the moon now accompanying him.






(Hi, I wrote a thing. I don't know if I'm gonna turn this into a full series. I am currently thinking about it, although like I said, I'm not sure. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this thing, because I sure did.)

You arrive at the next stop on your Halloween candy hunt, ring the bell and wonder what awaits you on the other side… but the seconds tick by and the door doesn't open. How odd. This house decked out in glowing decorations just about screams: “Welcome, trick-or-treaters! We're ready and waiting!” and yet you get no response?
You stare at the closed door. What do you do now?

1. Some people take a bit longer to answer the door, that's all!
   You decide to keep waiting.
2. Perhaps they didn't hear you? You ring the bell again
   and call out: “Trick or Treat!” just in case.
3. A glance through the window might yield you a peek
   At the tardy resident whose treats you seek
4. Oh well. You've waited long enough,
   time to leave and try your luck elsewhere.

bought so many sets and individual pets i spent over 6k c$ but we don't talk about that...
ones in my hoard group arent for trade, but i have around 30 sets of the stores outside of the hoard group that are uft!
