Wow, check out the new website!

We've been working for months and months on our new-look website. Tess designed the whole thing (isn't it gorgeous?) and Nick built it... .

Apart from our new-look website and forums, we have lots of new features.

We have a new Oekaki (drawing) board where you can draw pictures and post them, all on our website. We have so many aspiring artists in the community and we're very eager to see what they can do!

You can now trade items as well as pets.

We have a new help section on the main site that hopefully answers all the questions that appear on the forum every day. We'll be adding to this over the next couple of weeks to make sure we cover everything.. .

Now, we're straining the limits of our current server. At peak times, page loading speed is very slow. In order to keep growing our website, we need to run a faster server. The problem with this is that the faster server is very expensive to run. In order to cover our costs we need to have a source of income. So we've added a new store to Chicken Smoothie! We've got lots of items available right now and we'll be adding more over the next few weeks. You can buy items with "Chicken Dollars" (C$), and you can get Chicken Dollars by topping up your account with Paypal or a credit card. We didn't want to have to charge for things but we think this is the best way to fund the site going forward.

We hope that we can continue to make Chicken Smoothie bigger, more popular and more fun!

There's actually a new pet on the "Nick's pets" page now

A big thanks to gLove, Leurai, kelseyk721, Aishiru, Hoshiko, Taethiana, nekoasato, kickthem, Da Wolfster, Draco_The_Wolf and Uber Lizzy for the amazing array of chibified people versions of CS pets I recieved today *^__^* you guys are incredible, thankyou very much :3 I hope I haven't missed anyone!

just a reminder that I'm currently bogged down with exams and stuff so I'm not really around much for the next 2 weeks - but expect to see some big updates once I'm done with exams as me and Nick have a lot planned

Hey everybody, it's Nick here . You've all been asking me when I'll make some more "Nick pets". Well, they're here now! Head over to the "Nick's pets" page on the left to adopt.

The old horses on the horses page are gone now, we're got our great new growable ponies by equimagine there instead . I hear that growable horses are coming soon.

Great big thanks from me and Tess for the huge thank-you note we received from you guys today! It's really amazing to see that sort of support from the community. I hope we can all work together to grow and improve Chicken Smoothie well into the future!

New horses!
If you check out the horse section, there is a new set of growable horses available for download - these were made by our newest artist equimagine who will be taking over the maintenance of the horse adoptables
The older horses will finally be retired from the horse page, so if anyone is keen to adopt one this will be your final chance. I will remove them in a few days. Any horses already adopted will still be safe, don't worry, they just won't be available for new adoptions.

p.s. I am very busy with university commitments at this time of year so you won't see much of me online until mid-July. Please contact the other staff if you need an urgent answer to something as I can't afford to spend much time here

Frequent 'General Error' pages and lots of lag (slow loading times) present on Chicken Smoothie:
These problems are due to an overloaded server (there are just too many of you guys now) We need to upgrade to a faster server but we can't afford it just yet.
We are looking for a solution to the problem and expect to upgrade in around a months time.

Please have patience in the meantime, and you don't need to report the general errors to staff. We're all experiencing them, and there's nothing we can do about it while on this server. Try setting up trades and adopting pets when there are fewer people online - so don't expect to get a lot done at peak times (this is generally during the afternoons & evenings in the US)

We've now switched back to our old, slow server. In future, we hope to be able to afford to run the faster server all of the time.
