Can we only buy items with real money?

Is there any goals to work towards?

You do need Chicken Dollars (C$), the in-game currency, to buy items, but you can get C$ by trading with others or by selling art if you do art!

There are actually some free items you can find under the special offers page. My favorite set is the library set, seen below:


There isn't necessarily a goal to collecting pets here on CS- but some players make personal goals like;


Collect the rarest and oldest pets.
Hoard [your] favorite outcomes.
Have an entire collection of each pet on the site.


And some people just play casually, with no goals, enjoying the community and art CS fosters !

I hope you've been enjoying your time on the site so far- there's a lot to explore! One of my personal favorite things to check out are the dressup contests. If your dressup is particularly good, the admins might choose to display it on the front page during the midmonth updates. c: You can get your first couple sets of free items over here. Also, I would make sure to adopt the monthly adoptables sometime soon, here's a link. Each month a brand new bunch of adopts get released and the whole community talks about them in a discussion thread on this board as they grow! It's always so fun to watch and celebrate as a group, definitely worth checking out. <3

Hey, nice to meet you and welcome to CS! Do you have a favorite pet so far? Like others have said, thankfully there are many ways to obtain items without spending real money! Anytime there is a site-wide event there are also generally free items given out.
