Prompt:
She was always around, which didn’t help him with his duties. She was bubbly and kind and everything he had ever admired about another cat. She was however terribly clumsy and forgetful as well. He would be eager on most days to stick around and help her with meaningless tasks, just so that he could be around her. She had her duties and he had his and they yet they would somehow always find a way to make them overlap.

Croutonstar, Breadcrumbs brother, would notice this and would on occasion make it so that the two of them could be alone. He found it hilarious how someone as serious as Flossmaw and as silly as Breadcrumb could be so flustered around one another. He made it his mission to get them together because on their own they were utterly helpless. And eventually they did end up together, not without his help of course. They would have been helpless without it.

Breadcrumb was not very motherly, much like her mother was, but she wanted to start a family nonetheless. She knew that she had the help of all her siblings- especially those that did not want to start families of their own. And Flossmaw was eager to have little kits that he could train to be strong warriors. Like most cats in the Iris canopy they would go to the tree to make a wish during the wishing ceremony, only they did not have to wish for a family- so instead they made a wish that their kits would have long and prosperous lives. That the kits that Breadcrumb would bring into this world would be the healthiest and strongest babies. Part of them were worried about what had happened with Oakkit, and part of them just wanted the best chance possible for the future of their family.

"How are you feeling, my fate weaver?"

A stern, yet oddly soothing feminine voice called out. The scenery was a vast, starry sky, where there was no ground to stand upon. And yet, two cats sat among the stars comfortably, sitting side by side with one another. One of them, Nona, a blue and ginger molly, sat on her haunches, her paw strumming a soft blue thread in front of her.

"I'm alright. This clan is at their wits end, though. An arrogant leader who thinks everything he does is right." Nona growled. "However, his thread is weakening - something is about to happen." Nona turned slowly, peering at the molly beside her. She was a purple and blue tortoiseshell, with striking green eyes that Nona easily found herself lost in.

"You worry too much, dear. Though you're the Goddess of Fate, you only guide cats in that direction - you aren't all knowing." Vira's head gently rested atop Nona's as she gently purred, something that soothed Nona. "What is troubling you specifically, right now?"

"I don't understand these mortals. How they desire so much power, and try to obtain it through oppressive means. Cats are attracted to positivity and repelled by negativity. Why should anyone follow this tom?" The molly began, sighing as she lowered her paw, the blue thread before her fading away.

"He thinks it is a birth right - he is the first in his lineage whom didn't receive leadership. That is rather odd, at least to him, no?" Vira explained.

"His ancestors weren't inconsiderate fox brains." Nona remarked, a soft gasp emerging from Vira.

"My fate weaver! You cannot use that language! Be eloquent!" Vira cooed sarcastically, the two mollies quietly laughing. Then, Nona's gaze averted before she took a deep breath.

"I... have an odd question."

"Oh? Do tell." Vira's brow rose with curiosity, her eyes brimming with love for the molly before her.

"I think I would better understand these mortals and their emotions if I had one to observe exclusively."

"Huh? You have plenty of cats to observe. Look around you." Nona's gaze slowly rose up, looking about their scenery. Several mirrors, each holding the scenery within dozens of clans, bounced around the starry landscape.

"For someone so intelligent, I guess I need to spell it out for you." Nona teased. "I want a family."

"With me?"

"Who else? I think having a kit, and seeing how they navigate the world without us influencing them at all could be an interesting experiment. Provide some perspective on the complex emotions these mortals experience." Nona's eyes twinkled at the thought. "But, cats do it out of love. And I do love you - more than the amount of stars that dapple this sky."

Vira's face grew hot with fluster and embarrassment.

"I love you too, but are you certain?" Vira asked gently. "Perhaps you're not of rational mind."

"I've been thinking about this since before the clan we are observing currently existed. I'm sure."
