sunrise or sunset?; When she falls asleep, she goes to a place. The place not of dreams, but of- something else. In this place, she sees colors that clash, like a storm, yet still are calm. They clash in a way that creates peace. She looks around, trying to determine where she is. The colors are soft, but they clash boldly. She cannot speak in this place, only watch and listen. For what she sees, she cannot describe well. What she sees, calms her, it seizes the day and releases the night. As she looks, she feels calm. Each day as she rests, she sees it. Sometimes the colors change, yet they remain soft. She watches the area around her, she feels that she knows it, but it is distant. Far in her memory she recalls what this is. She ponders it every night. What is she seeing? What does it mean? When it comes, it brings rest and deep thoughts. It starts the cycle of new possibilities each time it begins. On the 55th time of seeing it, she knows. She knows what she sees is real. She knows what it does and she knows why it happens. It calms with its beauty and color, but it is a sign as the passing of time. It reveals a moment in the day where all the daylight fades, and the darkness rises. It starts the cycle of a new chance. It isn’t the beginning of a new start, it isn’t the end of the cycle. It doesn’t show to those who arise early. It is not the morning rise. It seizes the moment and captivates it. It begins the cycle. It marks her. For she knows that it is the sunset.
