When I was about... five or so? I started having this recurring nightmare about my house burning down while I was in my room. Every time, I escaped the same way, though the other parts of the circumstances sometimes changed. Sometimes, I could warn my parents, or rescue my pets, or a book, or sometimes I was being chased by a shadow monster and couldn't do anything but get out.
The dream stopped a few years later, when my house actually did burn down.

Ack! I had those exact same kind of dreams when i was younger. My mind would even throw in a lava flow on occasion for good measure! (Watched too many volcano themed movies, i think.) Also sorry to hear about what happened to the house later on, i hope everyone was ok.

Goodness, you had this nightmare when you were 5?! That would terrify me even at this age! I wish you didn't have to go through that at such a young age (or at all, DX)!
And it stopped when your house DID burn down?! Sounds as if it was some kind of warning all along - spooky! O.O (Very sorry about the house though, DX!)

I had dreams like that, except they were about a tornado destroying my house, since I lived in North Carolina and heard a lot about them. It always started with my parents leaving me and my sister alone and then the tornado would come. I hate spoopy dreams -_-
