Frostystar had just ended a meeting with her clan.
The full moon shone on the cats' pelts as each made
their way to their dens, a general feeling of unease,
anger, and fear radiating from them in waves. The
leader of Riverclan and her small band of cats to
represent her clan had just returned from a gathering,
where it seemed that each clan was ready to tear the
others apart. Territory, lack of prey, and a band of
rogues who had so far killed an elder of Windclan
and the medicine cat apprentice of Thunderclan:
it was putting pressure on all the clans and causing
scraps to occur on the borders.

Stormtail, unable to sleep, padded out of camp,
giving a brief nod to his sister, Bramblestorm,
who was sat on guard. "Be careful, Stormtail,
and watch out for rogues" Bramblestorm called
out after him, who simply flicked his tail in response
as his dark grey pelt blended in to the shadows.

For some time the tom sat, listening to the quiet
gurgle of one of the streams in Riverclan territory.
Stormtail was a loyal warrior, willing to do anything
to protect his clan and his sister. She was his only
kin left alive, as his elderly mother, Raintail, had
passed away only a moon ago.

Lost in thought, Stormtail didn't notice the shadowy
outline of another cat stood next to him until they
spoke, "Can't sleep?" Stormtail shook his head, his
eyes fixed on the horizon, on something that only
he could see, "How could I? With everything that's
going on...It's tearing the clans apart". The two
cats sat for some time, until eventually the other
cat spoke, "Do you miss Raintail?" The cat asked
suddenly, tilting their head to the side as they stared
at the other cat, eyes bright as the silver moon
reflected in their depths. "I...I do miss her, as does
Bramblestorm. She left us so suddenly, in a time
that we needed her most..." Stormtail dropped his
head and shut his eyes, grief tugging at his heart,
"I would do anything to see her again". With his
eyes closed, Stormtail didn't see the dangerous
flash in the other cat's eyes. He didn't see them
unsheathe their claws. He didn't see them tense
and then pounce, claws aiming for his throat.
His green eyes, once bright and full of life,
seemed to grow pale as his blood stained the grassy
terrain. Stormtail tried to speak while the murderer
watched their dying clanmate. Only when Stormtail
was about to join Starclan, did the murderer
speak: "Now you can watch your precious clans
burn and break with your mother". Shock
widened Stormtail's eyes as one last breath
escaped his lungs.

It had been a while since Stormtail had left,
and Bramblestorm was growing concerned.
He should've returned by now. Standing,
Bramblestorm followed the faint scent of
her brother, growing closer and closer
until two new scents mingled together
with Stormtail's familiar scent: blood and
rogues. Breaking into a run, Bramblestorm
sped across Riverclan territory until she
found her brother lying on the grass. Cold.

Dead.

A group of five rogues, large cats with messy
fur and various battle scars, were dragging his
body away, heading towards the stream. With
a hiss of anger, she charged directly at them,
despite knowing from the start that she was
severely outnumbered.

A brief fight, and the rogues were dragging two
bodies towards the stream.

You have a traitor among you, Riverclan.
Two cats are dead!

Blazeheart padded out of her den, ready for a new day. Except... She couldn't help but feel anxious. With all that was happening with Thunderclan too, she felt there was danger heading towards Riverclan. Everything was silent. Her ears twitching, she suddenly remembered something. Bramblestorm... Did she come back from being on guard? she thought to herself, and soon realized she wasn't anywhere in the warrior's den or around camp. Fear surged in her heart, racing outside the clan Where could she be? Blazeheart decided to go to the stream first, since there has been quite a few drownings. And... She was right. Lying in the river were two bodies, Stormtail and Bramblestorm. The sight shocked her, her eyes wide with fear. "No... This can't be!" The deputy shrieked. She was now definitely convinced they had been drowned by some rouges.
