Kowboy was a foal that his mother rejected him. He is an escape artist especially now when he is quite heartbroken and looking for his mother. He needs constant companionship to keep him from becoming depressed and declining.

Story: Skippy was a foal that got rejected buy her mother out in the wild she has no idea why but she wandered for days looking for anyone that could help her. At first she was really scared and did not want to accept help but once she learned that she could trust humans she got really hyper and happy.

Story: Absorto's dam had been a wild mare, but his sire was a tame stallion with a penchant for roaming. He had gotten loose one day, and that was how he met up with the small herd where he met Absorto's mother. After a while the stallion was found and brought home again. Absorto was born wild, but he wasn't built quite like the other foals. He wasn't as fast or a strong as they were. There was an odd Spring drought when Absorto was finally starting to become stronger, and the herd was attacked by a pair of mountain lions with cubs to feed. Absorto couldn't keep up with the herd, and there was so much dust stirred up by scraping paws and thudding hooves that he couldn't see. He began to run in a random direction out of fear. He hadn't run long when he entered unfamiliar territory, and was lost. Cold from fear and shaky from exhaustion, he began to walk, in search of his mother. He never found her, but instead he found us. We never could find his herd, and that's how he ended up staying with us.



(Pequeño Huérfano is Spanish for little orphan.)

George was born into a great life, green pastures and beautiful barns and a little girl who would do anything for her foal.

Unfortunately the girls father went bankrupt, the horses were the first to go to auction. His mother and father were fine horses and we're snapped up, the other 13 were quick to go too.

The little girl begged and pleaded with her dad to keep George and for a while she could keep him but once all the animals had been sold off and little George wasn't receiving the proper care due to insufficient funds, she decided it was best for her best friend to go and live a happier life elsewhere.

Unfortunately the happy ending the little girl had hoped George would have was not meant to be and he ended up being sold to a man to beat his horses. Poor little George perserveired and eventually slipped his Halter and headed out down the nearest trail until he was picked up by the RSPCA.
