Yeah Zak is a weird case. There's a lot of theories floating around, but not only did he dump his child onto a stranger, he dumped that stranger, and returned years later to try to completely destroy him so he would loose the only livelihood he had left. Because you know it's not like that stranger needs what little money he can scrounge up to take care of the kid you dumped in him or anything
As for Dhurke he clearly had the best of intentions in mind. He didn't want Apollo to be caught up in the dangers of a family that wasn't his own. He wasn't born into the Khur'ain royal family so it would have been forcing him into a dangerous situation he would have ultimately gotten nothing out of. I doubt Dhurke thought that Apollo would have been away from him for so long. He geared up all those years for a revolution he still didn't have the vital pieces he needed to start. Without the factors Phoenix eventually brought in, the revolution was essentially sitting around collecting dust. Dhurke clearly cared about Apollo a lot, keeping reminders of him laying around constantly and having him be the first one he thought about when he was given the chance to be channeled. Zak didn't want to see Trucy at all when he made his return, and he seemed more than happy to take a risk that could cost Trucy any stability.
