My pet has the wrong adopt date???

So I just got this beauty from the Pound and couldn't find her in the archives.


Pet's name: Cala
Adopt virtual pets at Chicken Smoothie!

Turns out it was because she's from a February 2016 litter but has a late March adopt date. Anyone know how/why this happened?? I'm so confused.
