Suggestion: Pings avaliable on CS? 400+ SUPPORT!

I think this is a fabulous idea. I know it would make contacting mass amounts of people quickly. I know on FR Lightning flight has been known to ping hundreds of people to a single important post. This allows our whole flight to stay generally on the same page and makes catching up after a vacation or hiatus way easier.

Now I know we have a list of posts under my posts, but if we post allot threads get buried in it quite easily. Now of we had a button of sorts that when we clicked opened up a little window to show our pings it would be easy to track it. It could say pings (1 new) or whatever and if you clicked it much like FR a box would pop up with who pinged you. This isn't in your face for the people who don't like pings but is easy to see for the people who like pings.

Yes I think this would be a great idea!
I think it would be a good personal ref for me since
most of the times I forget to reply to someone until
a few hours or even days later, & I won't have to check every 5 minutes for a reply. I think having a ping system would be awesome! c:

i support this, but only if there will be a way to turn off the 'pings'/not receive notification for them.

I agree. There should be a way to disable them. I'm hoping it's easy to code since the rest of the program is already created for nicks use

I do very much support this, but there's one flaw in the system: Symbol Letters.

I believe that people who entirely code their usernames with symbols as letters will cause this to be a pain, but however I don't believe this should be a problem if there were to be a post by the user in that forum. Perhaps a dropbox could be made or you can use a different username than display name? Proboards uses this, I don't know any differences between Proboards' code and the site's coding, however.
