You get lost trying to find your way home after hiking deeper into the woods than usual today on a new path. Moping along, you hear some noise suddenly close by. Following the sound, you stumble into a clearing with flashy lights missing some bulbs, rusty rides creaking as they spin on their last wheel, trash piled, and a large red beaming tent. There's a carnival going on!? b-but..you know the state fairs location! & the dates!... so what is this?
With large eyes, and big curiosity, you enter the tent ahead. You quickly realize you are the only visitor and an eerie vibe takes over settling in. After a minute of anxiously gathering yourself, wondering if anyone else will join, you are greeted by... an opossum! The stench of him wafted over to you before his being could. He smells to the high heavens, so bad that you choke on the stench with tears in your eyes, but stay quiet because you don't want to be rude...and because he made eye contact with you and you're alone, you feel as if it would be v awkward to just dip now. He appears to be dressed as a clown, but make up is old, smeared, crackling, and grungy. You also noticed his finger on one hand is missing, his tail is chopped, and his odd spikes and horns are broken and/or worn down... yet you dare not ask about the old injuries.
He is overly ecstatic, for a visitor has finally arrived to the show! He tells you ALL about the commodities and oddities that his traveling festival offers. You tell him you need to get home, and ask for possible directions, but instead he just grins from waxy ear to ear flashing his sharp rotting teeth, and then carries on about the carnival. He tells you to stay for the big show, but something just...doesn't seem right? The sun is almost full set now... do you make a run for it, or will you join the opossum in the show?
I hope you enjoy, tried to make a trash cat that fit the "spooky horror" vibe and what's scarier than clowns and run down abandoned carnivals! feel free to claim and keep the story, or mix it up! Also free to make edits to the palette or character design changes. would love to know how you interpret what comes next!
Likes I tried to incorporate:
horror inspo
elaborate patterns inspired by real life
natural patterns with unnatural colors
colorful and wacky
creepy/undead/demonic
weird and or ''ugly'' color palettes
strange surreal vibe
saturated monochromatic red color palettes
spikes
bones
sparkledogs
checkerboard patterns
For my possum baby, if you get the time to fixing one up, I really like neutral tones and color palettes that blend well together. expl: xXx or xXx
I love stars, squishmallowss, monsteras, unique tails, shaped pupils/highlights like little stars or diamonds, Snap backs, androgynous, snaggle toofs, toe beans, you can make it weird/creepy yk like multiple eyes/mouth who knows the possibilities are endless. snail pets, gardening, forked tongues etc the design is entirely up to you tbh have fun with it!
