Story:

"I knew a girl, Jenny, who lived over in Cube 5. Her sector was a lot like ours, with bakeries, a shopping mall, parks. Every day, she woke up, brushed her teeth, ate breakfast, and walked to school. She would hurry out the door and turn the corner where there's a long long street that looks directly into the next sector, where you could see other people moving around going to school and work. Jenny would then go past the bookstore which always had the new comics on display, and follow the road as it curved around until she hit her school, which was right in front of the White Wall. She would study, have fun, and take the same path but backwards to go back home. That's a normal day for Jenny.

One day, she woke up. She brushed her teeth, she had breakfast, went out the door, and turned to see the long long street that let her see the other sector at the end of it. She would go past the bookstore which always had the new comics on display, and follow the road as it curved around and around, until she saw the school. And like always, the school was--" Rui paused for dramatic effect, her eyes wide as she re-enacted Jenny's expression.

"The school was not in front of the White Wall. In fact...there was no White Wall at all. Behind the school was a big forest, an endless amount of trees, stretching further than she can see. The Wall was...gone. And when Jenny thought about it, she realized that when she was looking into the next sector, the view was crystal clear. There was there was none of that reflective glare she was so used to, the glare that told her the North Wall was there. The White Wall wasn't the only one that disappeared - all of the Walls were gone." Some of her friends had their jaws slack in awe, and Rui grinned, giddy her story was going well.

"But Jenny was really curious about that vast forest. She was curious about what was outside the Walls. So she walked past the school. She walked past where the White Wall would be. She walked until she reached the edge of the forest, and then went into it, into the darkness beneath the leaves. She went towards anything that caught her eye, any flower, any bug. She moved until she was tired, and because she didn't know where she is, she looked for the White Wall to orient her. But it was gone. She climbed a tree, thinking maybe the Walls were pushed further back. But it was gone. She had no Wall, no compass to point her back home. She was...lost." Everyone breathed in sharply at that last whispered word. Lost, the scariest thing to happen to someone, an evil that was banished once the Walls were built.

"And that is why you should never leave the Walls."
