jokes aside though i do have a fondness for independence day traditions. growing up my schools would always hold flag ceremonies, and while i don't miss them, i do miss all the games that followed. there were so many competitions held between classes and i kind of miss the innocent fun of cheering during a soccer match or taking part in an art contest or trying to eat kerupuk without using your hands the fastest without considering the broader context of nationalism and recovering from colonial mentalities and this and that and AAAAAA
