Eider carefully stepped through a narrow alleyway into the opening of the town square, the aroma of freshly baked bagels and crisp grass filling him with new energy. It's easy to see how the quaint little town could mesmerize one's soul, but the young bull knew he had a job to do. He cautiously glanced around, then pranced into the shadows of the trees surrounding the square ─ the full moon was still up and the town at rest, but a good precaution nonetheless.

Eider stopped his quiet humming when he reached his destination. The flower cart was the pinnacle of simplicity ─ it was essentially a crude wagon painted white with a large tent to keep out the rain and sun. However, as Eider had learned, it isn't the outside that matters. Poking his head through the unlocked window, the bull delicately nosed his way through the various assortments of flowers. Freshly-bundled orchids, roses, and chrysanthemums inhabited the many shelves inside, and packets of seeds rested in a rusty bucket. None of these were what Eider desired. He carefully pushed each flower to the side as he searched out the one flower that he knew Adeline would love. Finally, the perfect flower shone in the moonlight ─ the lily. With intricately bordered petals and delicate freckles, the lily was the flawless floral representation of Adeline. Mighty, yet tender, the heifer was everything the flower was and more. Eider tenderly plucked the stem of the lily from the vase, making sure he placed the other flowers exactly where they were before. He carefully withdrew his head from the cart and trotted his way through the grass. He knew Adeline would love it. As the town started to wake up, the cow picked up his pace to a clumsy gallop, knowing he'd be out of place in a crowd of humans. Past the buildings, beneath the bridge, across the stone path. Eider breathed a sigh of relief when he was into the forest, where he would meet the apple of his eye.

Entering into the clearing, Eider marveled at the early-morning sunlight washing over the enchanting brook and surrounding trees. Only the sounds of chattering jackdaws and a faraway farm encroached upon the peace of the forest. Eider looked around the clearing and sighed. He walked over to the ancient stump and dropped to his knees to rest. Eider carefully set down the slightly-wilted flower on top of the patch of bare soil. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you how I feel earlier," the bull choked out softly. Eider's eyes slowly began to close, and the last thing he saw before drifting to sleep was one word carved into the stump.

Eider is a sensitive bull, and due to this, he likes to keep his feelings hidden under a cloak. He's been hurt one time too many, as some might say. He has trouble keeping his emotions in check sometimes, so he blocks people out before they do the same to him. This has caused pain in others' lives, but Eider likes to keep himself safe -- one of his potentially negative personality traits. However, on occasion, he will open up. And like a flower unfurling its petals, one can see the vulnerable and delicate side of this young bull. He cares deeply about others that have earned his faith and would stick his neck out for his closest friends in an instant. Eider is the one cow that can be trusted as a listening ear; someone who will take in everything you have to say in silent companionship. He can't be bothered with small issues, however -- Eider has things to do and places to be. He'd rather not involve himself with petty little issues most of the time. This oftentimes polarizes cows he knows. Everyone's a friend or a foe in his world -- at least that's what everyone thinks. Eider doesn't seem to notice this or just doesn't acknowledge it. He just deems himself a conventional cow who'll do what he needs to to get by in life.

Altair is a soft-hearted sweetheart, though he doesn't look like it. He comes off as grumpy and almost creepy because he mostly stares and mumbles at others. He doesn't really know how to talk to others without sounding stupid so if he can help it he will constantly avoid others. He wants so badly to make friends and be loved but his personality prevents him from doing so. Talking to others is so difficult and hard and he wishes he could be more. He is sad because he feels this is one thing he will never be able to overcome. Altair tries his best though most of the time, he at least talks to people sometimes... they just don't know it. He mumbles his words or sometimes speaks so quietly it's barely audible.

In those cases where others don't hear him he will sometimes just walk away, it wasn't like they noticed him much anyways. Then there are other times he snaps and argues with them until he runs away upset mostly with himself that he got so many. He hates being so mean to others especially since it wasn't their fault they couldn't hear. He has a tenancy to beat himself up over it from time to time and often for days he will spend cuddled up in his favourite spot in the forest, a small grotto where he has a cabin hidden far away from others. It is the only place he really feels like himself, like he could actually talk to someone if only they were right there with him. However he can never find anyone to actually be there with him. A soft boy with a tender heart who only wishes to be heard in the busy world.

One typically shows affection by getting the one they care for a gift, flowers, perhaps write them a poem or a song. However he does not show affection in such a way as he is unable to do any of that. He has a habit of eating the flowers nervously before he can give it to anyone and he may have sat on a gift once or twice... his poems and songs end in flubs as he can't get the words out quite right if at all. If only he had the ability too be normal perhaps he would be able to show affection like a normal bull. However he is not normal, in any way in his mind. So perhaps he tried a few different things and it all ended in absolute failure... and so he has now discovered a way to show off his affection. The only problem with it is that no one else realizes he is being affectionate... in fact most thing he is an absolutely weirdo.

He shows his affection by staring 'passionately' at the one he loves however she has no idea that he likes her because all he does is stare at her creepily and doesn't really say anything and every time he tries to say something it sounds like a demonic seance as he whispers strange words towards her that she can't understand. She screams and runs away and tries to actively avoid him. Much to his dismay he has lost many crushes that way and will spend days crying over the loss of love that wasn't really... a love.... he realizes most of his crushes are very one sided. Because who would want to love a bull who can't even work up the nerve to say hello?

Much to his broken-heart he knows he will remain a loveless loser his whole life! However that doesn't stop him from being the hopeless romantic that he is. Altair more then anything int he world wants to be loved and one day have someone who understands the way he shows affection and maybe can show him that there is more to life then chocolates, flowers and songs. Maybe he could find someone who will be just like him, shy but able to understand the soft gaze from his eyes, the tender look from his heart. Someone who doesn't take one look at him and assume he is being a creep. For Altair is a lover, a sad little lover boy, gaze into his eyes if you dare.
