When I was a little girl I really tried to go against the norm and didn’t want to like or do the things that other little girls were expected to. I remember telling myself to like a less girly color, like blue, which is what I told people was my favorite for awhile, which then switched to a bright, lime green. As I got older I realized that doing things that are labeled as “girly” isn’t necessarily setting myself up to be put down or treated as less than a human being. I’ve been able to embrace my true favorite color, and I don’t care how girly or lame anyone thinks it is anymore:)
