- i grew up,
and am still growing,
in such a religious family
a Christian family
i believed what they believed
so when my church had a lgbtq+ discussion
all i wanted was to be there
but i couldn't
i was stuck under labels, rules, and fear
all i could do was hope for the best
i never really realized i was 'closeted' until now
locked inside and afraid to try to come out
sure, if i'm walking with a certain lgbtq+ friend
and our family isn't around
we'll come out to random people
but when i'm at school or camp
or at home
i'm trapped under expectation
and fear
