Which Style?

Postby Error » Sun Jul 29, 2018 11:14 am

I'm trying to figure out how to make designs people would want to adopt. So! I decided to make three different versions using the same color palette.

Which one do you prefer the most? Why?
If you prefer to answer things anonymously I tossed together a Straw Poll.

      Style 1 "Sharpie"
Flat/Cut Out patterns. Focuses mainly on sharp edges with small gradients here and there.
      Style 2 "Semi-Realistic"
Heavily blended designs, 99% gradients. Mostly results in realistic looking designs
      Style 3 "A Mess"
Inspired off of art journal pages. Focuses mainly on a lot of textures/elements with a mix of watercolor effect thrown in.

If you like one of these designs, you're welcome to claim it via pay what you want. I'm mostly looking for the event tokens for the duck race or the snake plushies that result from it. Any amounts of C$ works too. Or even just a kind word helps in these trying times.

All of them have been claimed/bought now! Thank you <3

each design has it's own audience, but I'd think 1 and 2 would sell better if that's what your concerned about. personally, I like 1, since it's clean, and coollooking. 2 is very basic, but many people like natural designs, and it looks super cute! 3's really beautiful, but I think replicating the design in art would be difficult, which decreases someone's likelihood of buying a character, or that's how I see it. Overall though, they're all awesome!! Maybe you could do a few of each ^-^

Thank you all for your input! <3

I stick with each style type and bounce between them then! That way I can improve at working with each style! ^^

I really love number two, but if you combined it with a little bit of three, that would make it more unique!

I prefer number 2 but I am bias c: I tend to design in soft blending coat colors just like your realistic style.
