.......................You make me happy
When skies are grey
Well hello! I'd like to introduce you to Vanilla, or, as she prefers to be called, Hope, or even Nadia,
Russian for Hope! To tell you more about her, she plays the banjo, and loves performing songs she
learned when she was young, such as her favorite, 'you are my sunshine'. She is a very sweet girl,
and can manage to find meaning to even the smallest songs. She loves being around friends, and
cherishes every minute of it.
happy* Vanilla is a generally happy deersert. She pushes herself to see the happiness in all things, and
keeps relationships longer than
most deerserts. She always manages
to keep a smile on her face, even when
miserable or unhappy, if that's ever even
happened.
neat* Vanilla loves keeping her house neat and tidy. Any odd smell will be easily caught with Vanilla's clever nose, and
thrown away or recycled. Any
unpleasant sight or smell will
send shivers down her lanky spine.
enthusiastic* Vanilla grows extremely happy when trying out new things, or doing something she does everyday. She
is very enthusiastic when she goes
to meet a friend, go to the store,
even do the laundry.
social* Vanilla's kindness revolves around her being the center of attention. She loves being surrounded by other deerserts
and socializing with her charming jokes.
Making new friends and bonding with
old ones is the highlight of her day.
obsessive* Everything has to perfect in Vanilla's decorative home. Curtains must be perfectly mirrored by the other pair
across the room; pillows must either
be twins or fashionably mismatched.
Vanilla is an extreme perfectionist,
and everything must be perfect in
her vision.
generous* Vanilla loves giving things to other deerserts, and loves to see their face brighten when they are rewarded for
whatever the reason. Vanilla is a generally
generous deersert, and she just can't help
it.
music-lover* The music in Vanilla's ears is a lovely sound; but she still can't compare it to the sound of other's laughter. She loves
to play and listen to music. Even if singing
is not her strong point, she enjoys singing
to herself and playing her banjo with her
friends.

story;;
A creamy young filly sat upon her bed, large eyes only growing wider in her little skull as she placed her toy gently upon her bed and peered out her bedroom window, pushing the lime green curtains from her vision. Outside, exiting from the thick forest surrounding the young deer's house, was an old, smoking car, making horrible spitting noises and with a coat of sloppily painted green. The filly's face lit up, the floorboards shaking under her long, thin legs as she leapt from her spot on the bed. Dashing out of her room, she pranced through the kitchen where her mother prepared dinner. The knocking upon the door sounded as the filly neared, and she grinned as she opened it. "Grandpa!" She squealed, leaping up to hug the old deerrssert, who chuckled like Santa. "Nadia! Boy, have you gotten big," He grinned, crouching down to see the filly outstretched a hoof to giggle at the length. "Just in time for dinner!" Mother smiled, trotting over to greet the old deerrssert with a hug. "Come on in!" She beckoned, hurrying for the kitchen as Vanilla pranced inside, grandpa closing the door.
Later, Vanilla, mother, father, and even her grandpa, had enjoyed a Christmas dinner. Mother took her to the side to tell her to go get ready for bed; "It's Christmas Eve, remember. If you don't fall asleep, Santa won't bring you presents!"
She didn't need presents. She got to see grandpa, who lived at least twelve hours away. She grinned her toothy smile at her mother, saluting her playfully. "Now now!" Cried grandpa, catching her gaze as she turned. "I have a surprise for some little filly!" He rasped. That's when Sunshine noticed. He had dressed up. A big, oversized red coat for the skinny elder; red pants too; and a long red hat, and everything was lined with cotton. Sunshine tried not to laugh, while her mother whispered something to father, who dashed away. From behind him, almost like magic, grandpa took an oddly shaped sack.
"There you are, Nadia.. This had been passed down generation from generation in this here family.."
Nadia mentally noted, for future references, grandpa had more of a Texan accent, while everyone else had a soft Russian, though grew with American cultures.
The sack fell to the floor, and the urge to faint struck Vanilla like a lightning bolt.
A banjo. Not just any banjo. It was the one every special deerrssert of the family received. Her parents had not received this. She had.
As she reached for the banjo, she could hear her father snapping a picture while she stared at it in awe. Then, looking at her grandpa in disbelief; she started to cry. A grin on her face, she gave her grandpa a hug as she cried, sobbing happily as he hugged her too, still cradling the banjo in her arms.

onto the next..
A cream coated deerssert sat upon the cliffside, that dipped into a long ravine.
The cold water brushing against her ice cream cone hooves, the gentle strumming
of a musical instrument floated through the sky, whistling gently in the breeze.
Opening her olive eyes, the doe stared into the sky. The sun, already left for a deep
slumber, replaced by the moon, shining down onto the deer's small frame. A sigh
escaping her lips, the candy coated hooves of the doe strummed against the strings
of her instrument, gentle sound waves rippling from the strings. Then, with a deep
sigh, the doe started to strum the strings along the colorful banjo in a beautiful tune.
"You are my sunshine..
My only sunshine..
You make me happy..
When skies are grey..
You'll never know dear..
How much I love you..
Please don't take my sunshine away...
The other night dear, when I lay sleeping,
I dreamed I held you in my arms..
When I awoke dear,
I was mistaken..
So I hung my head and cried...
You are my sunshine..
My only sunshine..
You make me happy..
When skies are grey..
You'll never know dear..
How much I love you..
Please don't take my sunshine away..."
The doe's song stopped suddenly so she could wipe away a tear. Smiling weakly down at
her banjo, she released another sigh as she lowered her head towards the instrument.
And last but certainly not least...
Why I want her.
First of all, her design is absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't love it more. The simplicity of it makes it adorable, and the dash of color added by the gentle olive green of the ice cream, and the piercing red of that cherry.. Which I must mention must be more than delicious. Just saying.
Next, her connection with me. Not just because of her design, no; she somewhat reminds me of when i was younger, for some reason. When I saw her, all these songs little kids sing ran through my head, and I felt like I was four again. Just to note how strong the connection is, let me mention that my bestest friend's name is Nadia, Russian for hope. We connect so much, her nick name is my friend's name. Yup.
Third, and last of all; just her. I love her, and the concept of her. Even only in writing and little art, I love her and the idea of who she is, in my form and really, all the others. Everything about her, I love. The design, the connection, and everything else. Thank you so, so, so much for making her. Even if I don't win, everyone has a fairly large chance, and I hope someone who deserves her wins. Good luck on judging, I know she will go to a good home.. If I were to win her, oh, I could drop out of all other deerssert contests right then and there. All I need is her, to be happy. I'm not saying this to make me win, of course not, everyone has a huge chance; but I do love her. And I love everyone trying out. Good luck, everybody<3
