Ditto (sparklepony).
bluestar123: China does seem to be coming up a lot, but it's just because of all the cruelty there. The meat market, the killing on-the-spot, and the other stuff. Actually, in Japan, they serve live frogs and octopi (octopuses).

I love frogs too. I have (used to, mean kids used to come in and drain it out with buckets and steal the frogs) a pond full of frogs, and they used to give off frog spawn. I loved to see them hatching etc and I think it is really mean how people kill them for FOOD. Hello? Why frogs? Apparently they taste like chicken, according to a lot of people I know, so why don't you go down the shopping market and get some chicken? Why do you have to kill a totally different species to eat when we already have killed so many animals for food already?

Animals = Food, there's no stopping it. I find nothing wrong with eating the flesh of another living creature as long as all of it is used in one way or another. When people get wasteful..I get highly annoyed.
ONTO TEH FROGS! Ugh, my husband and I built a pond for our two turtles and maybe a few goldfish. The lining slipped down a few inches when we filled it up so before we could add anybody we had to drain the pond and fix it.. A day later we went on a weekend vacation then got caught up in life for a couple of weeks and never fixed the liner. Finally, when we went to do it the ENTIRE pond was overrun in tadpoles. We figured a few more weeks wouldn't hurt. That was in late May early June... We're about ready to add our turtles for them to eat the remaining tadpoles...<Shrug.> Great protein for them and other nutrition. Its not that I don't like frogs, I love them, its just we have so many already and they have hampered our plans for the entire summer. =/

Cardinal: Well, turtles eating them isn't HALF as bad as humans eating them. That's natural. And when you say "Animals = Food" I say: NO! Animals do not equal food! Sure, if that's the only thing out there to keep you from dying, it's neccessary but no, ANIMALS ARE NOT FOOD! Ugh, it makes me so mad when people say that!

Animals are food. Plastic, glass, paper, carpet..These things give you no benefit to eating them. They are NOT food.
Food: any substance that can be metabolized by an animal to give energy and build tissue. As stated by my handy dictionary. Also, we are animals technically.
I don't want to sound like a butt head or anything is just that animals ARE food. Now, whether they should or should not be eaten is another thing. Yes, nuts and soy can give you the protiens that are needed. However, nuts are so fatty and full of calories. Soy is completely over eaten and made to sound like a miricule worker. Its not the perfect food. Soy contains large amounts of the female hormone estrogine. If eaten in exceeding quaunities it can increase the risk of breast and ovarion cancer in females. Also makes male sterile over time. Sounds evil to me. Lol.
Now, I do not go overboard in meat consumption. I'm not continuesly shovelling beef patties into my face with no reguard to my health. Moderation is the key to everything, no mater how tasty the subject. Now, give me your agruements so we can bicker back and forth for several posts, each getting more and more out of hand. I doubt we'll ever see eye to eye about this subject. Plus, once you go PETA...Never mind. PETA speaks for themselves in their actions and complete disreguard of life.

Well done, now go eat some tasty veg - or if your like me, have a nible on some grass, yummy!
Animals are food to other animals, eg, the foodchain eg:
Snail > sparrow > sparrow-hawk > falcon.....
Okay? Got a problem with that? No, good. Become a vegaterian......

Actually, animals do NOT equal food. Do you think someone or something would put us on this earth to eat other living creatures while they go through pain? I doubt that.
We were put on the earth in the first place to be vegetarians. Eat the fruit and produce from plants. BUT because Adam and Eve sinned we got in a right mess and started killing everything we saw. "Oh, there's a cute little piglet that's just been born! Lets KILL it, cook it and see what it tastes like, even though we have all the fruit in the world RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP."
This is what Human beings are like. They'll kill and eat anything that comes in their way. And that's not how it is meant to be. I doubt that we were made to kill and torture other species just to get some food. If this were true, then why would plants and fruit and crops be around IF we ate animals? There would be no need for them.
Thus, animals DO NOT = food.
