This was a perfect thing to make June, looking back at it and realizing how much spam I used to "produce" kills me but now I have tips on how not to spam anymore so thank you very much ;3

Juneecat1 wrote:Thankyou! This NEEDED to be said big time!I hang out alot in the RP area and while I try to stay on topic it sometimes makes me mad when other people post this really long Out Of Context post about what just happened to them or something. Because when I see them I think that they are posting for something important about the Role-Play and read all the way through it while its just a random story about them! I have left many RPs because of that! And I love to RP!

I am definately going to add the stamp into my siggy! Spread the word!

I was in one rp during days when I was really, really new and didn't know my way around at all, that happened to be put in the wrong place. I didn't know who the mods were, or how to get the thread moved. The owner said they made a new one in the right place, but I didn't see it. So we just rp'd there. People kept coming in, bothering ME about it. I told them I didn't know what I could do about that. If people wanted it to be moved, why couldn't they, oh, I don't know, send a PM to the OWNER telling them how it could have moved it instead of bugging me with posts about it every 5 pages or so?
(It did end up getting moved, after someone argued with me about that and a mod had to come in and stop it -_-'.)
I left the rp when the owner posted asking clicks for her dragoncave eggs. That was the sign that it just ended there, that the owner gave up.

I don't think I spammed very often, but I am glad this was posted.

we might want to encourage other users to delete their posts too. Ive seen some people spam, not knowing that's what they were doing and then a well meaning user will get angry and start a fight with the first person. then mods have to step in because someone was trying to do their job for them when the whole thing could be settled with tact.
point being, we could cut a lot of spam by encouraging the producers to delete the spam before a mod has to step in.

Finally people can get what spam actually is. I myself didn't know exactly what spam was, but it was still clear when someone was spamming. Hopefully this will help out people who aren't quite clear on the subject.

This is really, really helpful and important.

Don't forget about 'egg spam'. While it could file under the 'advertisement' part of this, many people don't understand why and how they're related. In case anyone has forgotten, egg spam is when someone posts asking you to click their adoptables to help them grow. I've seen a lot of that kind of thing around lately, and it can be easily put in signatures instead.

I agree. I have seen that on a lot of topics that have nothing to do with adoptables( which is why its spam XP)
